My in depth review. This book is not out until wednesday, and my review is based on a live voice acting performance from San Diego. One of the most fun moments I've had at any convention.

Variants
Originally posted by SmileOfTheShadow View PostTwo covers? dammit..how much of a collector should I be?
Per this page at Mile High Comics, it looks like there were three for WW #600 and only one for 601
For Superman, the same for 700 and looks like there will be a variant for 701.

A post on the Fans of JMS facebook page:
We've gotten the sales figures on my first full Wonder Woman issue, and DC is very, very happy. Everyone was wondering how the first regular book would do, and we came in at 38. The regular book in the four months prior to the anniversary issue had come in at 71, 85, 78 and 82, respecitively, so we've jumped 47 from ...the lowest point, or nearly halfway up top 100 rankings. We're off to a great start."As empathy spreads, civilization spreads. As empathy contracts, civilization contracts...as we're seeing now.

I've changed the thread subject so we don't have to have a different thread for each issue.
Has anybody noticed an overall title for this arc?
JMS posted on his Facebook page last night:
This coming week marks the next issue of Wonder Woman, which is the strongest yet for Diana in terms of action and character. I'd asked folks to give us two issues to make our case, and I think this does the job nicely. It's also quite beautiful in terms of the art. I'd noted a while back that when the jacket comes off..., you know someone's about to get their ass kicked. Here's a sample of what that looks like in 602.

Looks like the arc title is "The Odyssey".
This was a great issue! Lots of action (to say the least) and yet there was character and arc progression, too. I'm liking the art a lot on this one, too.
Drat. Now I have to wait another month for the next one. Got to admit, while I'm enjoying Superman, Wonder Woman's the one I really look forward to. Might haved something to do with JMS having had the staged reading last month--I could still 'hear' Diana in my mind as I was reading this issue.

WW 603 came out yesterday and I liked it a lot. Again, lots of action and this time the references to mythology are greater. The art was a little more intrusive this time. While Diana looked good, there were a couple of instances were I got thrown out of the story a little. Nothing major, though, and given how ambitious some of the panels were, I can see where there might be some other instances where less detail was used.
Overall, another great issue.

Considering the source, I would not consider this credible. However, there has been recent press about a possible Wonder Woman television series.

Wonder Woman headed to TV with David E. Kelley
by James Hibberd & Borys Kit | October 1, 2010 at 3:00 pm
Wonder Woman is still heading to the screen, but instead of coming to a theater near you, the Amazon princess is returning to television.
Warner Bros. Television is developing a modern-day reboot of the classic DC comic book heroine and has lassoed an unlikely talent to potentially write and produce the superhero project: David E. Kelley, the showrunner behind legal dramas such as ôAlly McBeal,ö "Boston Legal" and "The Practice." ...

I didn't really have the same issue as you for getting thrown out of the story. Thought it was pretty fast paced. Going to hell for a second there was tough for suspension of disbelief, but it recovered pretty quickly.
As for TV: David E. Kelley is pretty good even if it's not JMS

I actually found the art on this issue highly inconsistent. Look at the two page fight spread on pages 7 and 8. Second panel of page 8 looks terrible. Then on page 12, Diana looks remarkably different between the first and third panels.Got movies? www.filmbuffonline.com
