Who else is reading Joe's excellent run on Amazing Spiderman? I'm loving it. I've been a huge Spiderman fan for years and when I heard that JMS (the creator of my all-time favorite sci-fi show) was going to be writing a Spiderman title I flipped. He's done a spectacular job. Especially with the current story, "Happy Birthday!". It features a bevy of guest stars including: the FF, Cyclops, Thor, Doctor Strange, the Dread Dormammu and the Mindless Ones (finally the Mindless Ones are getting some respect ). John JR. is also doing some great art work (the best of his career, IMO) and I'm really looking forward to # 500 with the son and father teaming up on the art chores. I also really like Ezekiel. He's a great character. I really think this is the best run on the title since the Stan Lee/Steve Ditko/John Romita days.

Keep up the good work, Joe.

I'm reading JMS run on Amazing too and I totally agree. Its been a great run!

The current, " Happy Birthday" arc is really good. I can't wait to see what happens next (and I'm really hoping that JMS does that Dr. Strange mini! His Strange in Amazing has been really good!).

I also agree about Ezekiel. I really hope JMS does more with him.

(aside: I think the first Ezekiel arc with Morlun was great stuff! Really exciting! And I like the question that JMS posed with Spidey's orign!)

I'm a big JRJR fan too and I agree with you. JRJR is doing the best work of his career. Really amazing stuff (lol!)

Amazing is really good title. The only Spidey titles I read anymore are Amazing and Ultimate.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to the Doc Strange mini too. Hopefully it will be out soon. It would be cool if John JR. does the art, but that's doubtful considering his schedule.

Isn't he great. He's just a cool, interesting character. I can't wait to see what his future holds. I'd love it if JMS did like a mini-series just starring Ezekial. That would be great.

Yes, the Morlun arc was incredible. I loved JRJR fight scenes. On the topic of the Spidey origin question, I read somewhere that it may be dealt with in # 500 (or maybe the arc following "Happy Birthday!").

In addition to his Amazing Spiderman work, I'm also looking forward to his creator owned Image series, The Grey Area. It sounds real interesting and John is going to be co-writing it and doing the art.

I currently pick up Amazing and Spectacular. I read Ultimate Spidey in trades. Spectacular was off to a slow start, but it seems to be getting better.

Only 9 days away from Amazing 500. I can't wait.

        I'm reading it,

albeit delayed. I'm way behind in the Amazing comics, but I go get each one as soon as the store calls me; they save them for me, as well as the Supreme Power series (which I haven't started reading yet!).

        (I'm way too busy...)

I know the feeling ... I have all of jms's run of Amazing Spider-Man to date, but haven't had time to read any of it yet ... One of these days, I'll read them all ... Oh, to have free time again lol

JMS is who got me back into reading Spidey after a 15 year absence. I like his take on the character and on the cast. He seems to be the first writing in a long time to push the concept of 'responsibility' in all aspects of webhead's life.

The change to Aunt May has been a good one. By making a slight change (May's reality vs. Peter's perception of her), Joe has given the gal some real life. In some ways, it reminds me of what they did to The Batman's Leslie Thompkins. While I loved the character in the original Crime Alley tale (with it's amazing and iconic Dick Giordano art), the more capable and feisty version is much more palatable. Just like May Parker!

Besides, ya gotta love the whole gynecalogical(sp) joke...

I have really enjoyed all of JMS' comics. I previously quit reading comics when I was a teenager [35 years ago].

Now I have been following several series and can't get enough of them. Besides ASM, I buy anything written by Fiona Avery and I am now following '1602' by Neil Giaman. Also, Superman Birthright.

One thing that I have found, is that as I read JMS comics, I "hear" the dialogue in the voices from Bab5 & Jeremiah.

I just bought the newest issue of Spiderman here (Norway). I very rarely buy comics anymore, and I hadn't bought a Spiderman issue for more than 10 years. The second I saw that JMS had written the stories though, I couldn't wait to buy it. Inside the magazine, it says that the story was made in April of 2003 though, so most of you guys have probably read it already. It's a relatively long story, including a new bad guy called Digger. There are two stories (two out of two) in this comic about it, and the end of the story wil be in next months comic.
