I know that in a recent interview JMS said he'd need to think about the future considering some Big Event that had to do with Asgard and it sounded like he'd be thinking about leaving if they dragged him into it (which, of course they'd pretty much have to).
Marvel and the more mainstream comics sites (CBR, Newsarama, IGN etc) don't have anything up yet. All sorts of rumours in the forums as to who'll take over, of which Mark Millar may be the most promising.
Joe Quesada has an almost-daily column on CBR now - the next installment should be interesting ..... (someone's already posted a question in the Q&A thread).
I just subscribed to Thor, the first comic run to which I've actually subscribed for 30 years!
When will THEY(Marvel, and all others) learn to just let JMS do what he wants to do! It's not like he's ever had a giant failure with a project! (at least that I know of). I can see why he's DC-bound.
That said, assuming that there's no editorial interference that ticks me off in the last few issues JMS does, I'll keep reading Thor for the moment. If the Siege story is so convoluted that I can't get the basics from the main title, then I'll drop it.
FYI, his final issue -- "Thor: Giant Size Finale (By JMS)" hits stands this week (it was originally called "Defining Moments Giant-Size") -- for the collectors there are 3 different covers.
