  • Colleen Doran Unpublished 'Lost Souls' Art

Colleen Doran has posted a *lovely* cover for the complete-but-unpublished issue of the next 'Book of Lost Souls'.

While there's no definite word of the title's cancellation, it does seem unlikely that we'll be seeing it if JMS is allowing art to be shown.

    Darn!

It's impossible for me not to get attached to my work.

So, every book is a heartbreaker.

      Especially this one.

FWIW, I asked JMS about Lost Souls at the recent WonderCon in San Francisco and what he said is that he's still waiting for a determination on it because the Icon line is generally reserved as a prize for those who are exclusive with Marvel.

Maybe he'll have news by the time the Seattle con rolls around in May.

Yeah, it makes perfect business sense to reserve those books as a reward for a certain clique of writers. You wouldn't want to, you know, give one to a best-selling screenwriter, novelist and comic book writer; otherwise you might accidentally sell some copies you hadn't planned on.

If everyone begs Marvel a lot, pretty please?

I WANT MY BOOK! I WANT MY BOOK!

I am not going to post too much, but I will see what else I can put on the blog over the coming days to whet your whistle.

I'd hate to blow the story only to have them bring the book back, but I can assure you that if I posted every single page, you still wouldn't know where the tale was going without the word balloons.

Even I don't know what was coming up in future issues. I know it was a very big story arc full of major coolness.

And really cool villains. Pictured on the cover, natch.

Thanks for the look at the art, it's very good. I only just read the first colelcted volume a little while ago, and I really hope you and JMS are able to continue the book some time.
