Supreme Power Suggestions

I ran across this joke, and it seemed like something that might be easily adapted for the evil genius of Supreme Power and possibly Shape.

GAME OF INTELLIGENCE

A blonde chick found herself sitting next to a lawyer on an airplane. Bored, the lawyer kept bugging the blonde wanting her to play a game of intelligence (lawyers like easy prey). Finally, the lawyer offered her 10 to 1 odds, said every time the blonde could not answer one of his questions she owed him $5, but every time he could not answer hers heÆd give her $50.00. The lawyer figured he could not lose, and the blonde reluctantly accepted.

The lawyer first asked, ôWhat is the distance between the Earth and the nearest star?ö Without saying a word the blonde handed him $5.

The blonde then asked, ôWhat goes up a hill with 3 legs and comes back down the hill with 4 legs?ö

The lawyer looked puzzled. He spent nearly an hour, looking up everything he could on his laptop and even placing numerous air-to-ground phone calls, trying to find the answer. Finally, angry and frustrated, he gave up and paid the blonde $50.00

The blonde put the $50 into her purse without comment, but the lawyer insisted, ôWhat is the answer to your question?ö

Without saying a word, the blonde handed him $5.

to be fair jan, its an old joke, and i could see it even making it into a comic.
i have to assume that its a legit post. of course he/she prob doesn't know that JMS does not read this website or post here, someone can direct to the news groups

i also happen to think this is the sort of joke joe would find worth a chuckle. though i could so see this on a shuttle flight to the jumpgate in b5. not so much for SP

Its a joke in which the lawyer comes off the worst, after trying to take advantage of a Blonde's supposed stupidity. It would go great in a comic, and I do fail to see how it is inappropriate, even if a bit off-wall.

I believe I've posted this here before, but allow me just to say (again) that Warren Ellis does Supreme Power far better than JMS has done Supreme Power, in his book newuniversal, which, of course, isn't actually Supreme Power but a re-imagining of Marvel's failed 80s New Universe line.

My suggestion for making JMS' Supreme Power better: how about not making every character a huge, unlikable, asshole.

(I'd use the "c-word" to describe them, really, but I don't know if that would fly here.)

That's probably one of the biggest reasons why I can't get into Supreme Power like I should. Because EVERYONE is so thoroughly unlikeable that I have little motivation to give a shit about whether they live or die.

I'll give it this compliment, though. It's been far less disappointing than Rising Stars thus far.
