  • JMS comics panels at SDCC

Just so y'all know, your intrepid reporter was at the Civl War panel yesterday. Seems like most of the audience is liking it a lot. I'm not going to attempt a full report since I'm only following the JMS titles for this one...though I may pick up the Front Line ones too. Newsarama has a pretty good report posted as well as a lot of other SDCC comics related things.

I did tape it so if you have any specific questions I can try to find it on my tape.

I changed the thread name since I don't think these mini-reports need an individual thread each.

I somehow managed to get into the room for this one despite a huge crowd. The room seats 1,000 people, I've heard. I was unlucky about my seat, though, as I was right next to where the line for the mike to ask questions was. Ordinarily the questioners are polite enough to crouch or kneel so as to not obstruct the view but not in this case, despite being asked. This was especialoly annoying when JMS did an 'impression' of Sue Storm the Invisible Woman by crawling under the table.

The panel consisted of Joe Quesada, Stan Lee, Romita Sr. and Romita Jr. JMS and a man who's involved with the Spidey movies whose name I didn't catch.

It was mainly a love-fest. The fans love Stan, Stan loves the Romitas and JMS and Joe Quesada. There was some reminiscing about how Stan would act out the characters and scenes and how he'd type standing up. When asked how he managed to do so many comics as he had, he said he'd had an advantage, he was also his own editor and biggest fan so the approval process went quickly.

As usual, there's a better report to be found over at Newsarama or your favorite comics website.
