yeah, I'm gonna read the other (non -jms) stuff in volume one and evaluate accordingly.

I did start volume 2 before volume 1 arrived from amazon, now I see why it didn't make sense. Also the volume 1 I got from amazon was (at the time) their last one - makes me feel kinda special

Today I also bought the first volume hardcover of supreme power (collecting paperback vols 1 and 2) and I've pre-ordered hardback volume 5 and pre-ordered harback book 1 of "book of lost souls".

Best of Spider Man Volume 1

I read teh JMS parts of volume one last night (it's been sitting on my shelf for a while, thought I'd give ti a turn). I haven't read comics in years but boy! what a page turner. Alas my early morning memory is flaky (no coffee yet you see) but the interaction between PP and Ezekiel was fantastic, although the villan (Murilan?) struck me as rather vampiric. I had bought these purely because they were JMS material and wasn't sure if I'd wasted my money (thinking what they hey, I'd probably blow it on food or alchohol anyway). let me say it now and clearly I was wrong this stuff is fantastic

Then also in volume one is "that" issue - No. 36. I'm glad I was alone reading it (in bed) I needed some time to process afterwards, and lay awake for about 20 minutes. I'll edit in some quotes when I get home and can reference the issue, but I'd say some mild echoes if G'kar with the "we are one" bit. I especially liked the sentiments about not riding on a tide of blood, and ensuring such things not happen again. Really blew me away.

As I've said I'll edit this post later when I've had some more time to think on what it's brought out in me, but I've already pre-ordered volume 5

p.s. mods, if you want to fold this into the new suit thread (or an older more relevant thread) feel free - just didn't see anything which seemed to cover it.
