  • Book of Lost Souls #2

Have I mentioned that I like this book? I *really* like this one. I want it to last a long time. I want Colleen Doran to keep doing the artwork. And I'd love it if they kept coming every two weeks but that might just kill the artist.

This one didn't center on Jonathan as centrally but it illustrated nicely what his tasks may be like.

Some merciful PTB heard my plea (yeah, right!) and actually gave some multiple pages of story between adverisements. Thank You, Merciful PTB! I kept my promise and gazed at each ad for a good 10 seconds each. Half the time I didn't know what I was looking at but...

I loved what Ms. Doran did with the black border/margin around the panels that depicted real life.

Good choice of story for a first one out. I've got a couple of questions but they may get answered down the road. Or if I'm lucky, JMS might read the post I started on the moderated newsgroup. The questions didn't rate an 'Attn: JMS' post but I wouldn't scorn an answer. <g>

BOLS #2 is already out?! I agree that every 2 weeks is cool, but we know no artist can keep that impossible place. My concern is that by doing this we readers are going to be experiencing a delay in the comic, two, three or four months will go by without said comic book. Colleen's lush art has got to take much time. Jan, is there any way to find out from JMS or Colleen how far ahead they are with completed issues? I know comic publishers (and fans) hate late shipping books, but with these issues coming out so close together it creates a feast or famine type of shipping. (I'm not sure if that came out clear?)
Thursday morning's trip to the comic shop? I can't wait.
Oh, any word on when JMS' Silver Surfer coming out?

I'm sure it's just for these first two comics. I think it's a good idea for a new title. As I recall JMS has only fallen behind on a comic once, hasn't he?

Colleen has (or had) her own forums and the last I remember her reporting was that #4 was done as well as the cover for #5 so I think they're safely ahead for now. I hope her site comes back. It's been down all week. She seems like a nice lady.

Last thing I can see is from a post of JMSs in June:

        Colleen just posted this

IÆm just finishing off #4 (like within two days: I should have been finished by now: long story and not worth whining about). The cover of #5 is finished.
...to her blog. So it looks like she's still ahead of the game.

EDIT: She also said that she thinks the next one should be out around Dec. 21.
