  • Supreme Power

I have just finished Supreme Power 1 and 2 and really enjoyed them. Does anyone know if #3 is out yet. I read somewhere that it was coming out this month. I want more.

Is it the graphic novels you're reading?

I get the individual issues and I'm behind right now, waiting for the Book of Lost Souls first issue.

I just checked Marvel's website. Volume 3 of Supreme Power (Issues 13-18) came out 10-19-2005. $14.99 is the listed price. Check your comic shop for availability, though it should be in.

Edit- forgot the link. Here it be....Supreme Power Volume 3: High Command

            Supreme Power mini-series are out

Supreme Power: Hyperion and Supreme Power: Nighthawk are currently out. The former title is JMS written, and the latter is written by Daniel Way. I'm reading both and they both rock.

Check out JMS on Fantastic Four; he's doing a great job over there. I've never been a big FF fan, but JMS has done it again. Also, Fantastic Four #530 printed a fan letter of mine on its letters page (yay!).

I will work to elevate you, just enough to bring you down. Why can't we drink forever? I just want to start this over!" TOOL

I've only got the first one of each mini but I agree that they're great.

                  Kingsley

Is Kingsley named after Charles Kingsley, author of The Water Babes? Would seem appropriate.

                    Welcome, UrbanSpaceman!

I don't know about the name, though it sounds like it would be cool if it were. Maybe you could ask JMS over on the moderated newsgroup? Or perhaps the Marvel newsgroup? I know he's posted there in the past.

                      Supreme Powers at MK-Label

Hi. I'm new here and a fan of JMS' work since Babylon 5. I also collect his Comics he is doing for Marvel and Supreme Powers is the best adult comic I know. Now I've heard that the series will move from MAX to Marvel Knights soon after the two miniseries. I'm not sure if this is a good descision. I'm afraid that all those funny explicit contents I like in the series will vanish now. What do you think?

Hi, Rhiannon! At first I was concerned but JMS said that it was *his* idea, not Marvel's so that more stores will stock the title. If he feels that he can write stories with the same impact without the adult content, I'm willing to wait and see. There are a fair number of issues that don't require the Max designation, after all.

Wizard Magazine # 172 (latest issue) has a cool one page piece on Sqadron Supreme. JMS gives his take on the twelve members on the team:
                          1) Hyperion - "He's been bruised, knocked around and used by the government and just about everybody else. The problem with someone who grows up in this kind of environment is that they have a predilection toward doing unto others as was done unto them."

                          2) Power Princess - "She is nearly as powerful as Mark, making her technically the second strongest person on the planet, but she's nutty as a fruitcake, which makes her very dangerous, especially since one gets the impression that there are a couple of different personalities floating around inside her."

Let me know if you want to read the whole rundown. I don't mind typing it since I do know how to type and not peck at the keys.

                            A second Hardcover?

I have read the Hardcover edition of Supreme Power collecting #1-12 and I think it is a excellent printing of an outstanding comic. Anybody knows if Marvel plans a second HC including the miniseries of Hyperion, Nighthawk and Dr Spectrum? Or have I to buy the Tradepaperback 3 ("High Command") collecting #13-18?

The latest Marvel solicitations for March 2006 did not list a hardcover collection for issues 13-18. However, this does not mean anything, they could solicit one next month for an April 2006 release.

There is hope. Emailing Marvel directly is a good idea to let them know there is a market. I've emailed Top Cow and asked for a Midnight Nation hardcover, of course there still is nothing by way of hardcover, but consumers still need to give feedback.

So, you read only the collected editions? It's too hard for me to wait that long for anything JMS writes.
