  • What about the "flying the bird picture?"

I was just wondering if anybody knows if that picture of the B5 cast flipping off the camera (from the TV guide shoot, I believe) is available anywhere.

I saw it on E-bay a while back as part of the fundraising for Richard Biggs' family, but is it possible to actually get it elsewhere? Do the actors sell it when they appear at conventions?

    Just wondering.

Sometimes they do. I bought the one for the fundraising from Rick Biggs and I think perhaps Jason Carter sells them. And very occasionally I see one on Ebay. There's another on Ebay regularly where Jerry Doyle is sweeping the floor. That one's called 'Cast acting strange', I think and the auctioner erroniously claims that it's from the UK.

BTW, as I recall, the 'bird' photo with just Rick's autograph brought in about $150 in the auction and then the buyer returned it to me to use some more. I got more autographs on it from Pat, Jeffrey, Jason, Peter J, Peter W., Stephen Austin and even JMS and included it in my 'raffle' which took in over $1,000 for Rick's kids. It was definitely a successful item!

"Cast acting strange" is also the auction title frequently used for the "flipping the bird" picture. Just set up a search for it on eBay (using something like "Babylon 5" and "bird" and "photo"), and you'll probably find it within a day. It comes up all the time on one of my searches (I think it's "Babylon 5" and "rare" in that case).

        Thanks to you both!

That's awesome that such a healthy amount of money was raised from it for the family of Richard Biggs. It's especially poignant because it was originally signed by him, because he gave back to the fans (and charity, I've read), then that act of giving came back to benefit his family, in a way. That's beautiful.
