  • TMoS: Pre or Post Crusade?

When do you think that TMoS will take place in the B5 time line? Pre-Crusade, or Post? My feeling is that it will be the latter, tying up a handful of loose threads about the Drakh plague etc...

It could also be "during". Don't forget, Crusade was projected to cover the years 2267-72 (maybe longer as JMS indicated that the "less intense" arc he planned for Crusade would give him the option of going to beyond five seasons if the ratings were good.)

The title (and some of the alleged but unconfirmed "plot leaks" and cast "information") suggest that left-over Shadow technology is involved, and this is one of the major plot threads of Crusade (and would have largely taken over the story once the plague was apparently cured in S2) Galen's alleged involvement in the story is not a bar to its overlapping with Crusade since it is established in the series that he often goes off by himself for various lengths of time. If he's in the movie it can be set any time after he leaves the Technomage Sanctuary at the end of 2266.

I suspect JMS may be leaning towards an earlier date for the film in order to leave the door open for a continuation (or recreation) of Crusade as a television series if the film does well enough.

I've been thinking a lot about something:
If it is set "during" Crusade, what uniforms will Gideon & Co wear (if they appear in the movie at all)?

If Crusade is ever continued/recreated, I imagine thy will try to use as many episodes/scripts/elements of the old one as possible (but making it coherent this time), and whatever appears in this movie will "set" things for that eventual continuation/recreation.

Then again, they may only be mentioned, or it could be set before 2267, so it wouldn't matter but... I think about these things.

        As do we all.

I'd guess most of the B5 staff would be in Earthforce or alliance uniforms.

Then again, we might get totally new uniforms and looks to the movie. Why not?
It always happens in Trek, and Babylon 5 and Crusade have had thier fair set of changes.

And in Trek movies they always have a new Enterprise to play with - do you think we can look forward to a new-look B5 station itself?

Actually, I was thinking grey-and-red vs. black uniforms.
I had taken for granted the Earthforce and the B5 crew uniforms would remain as in the series. Maybe I shouldn't have. It may be too logical for some people involved.

Logic and movie making, two polar extremes...
