Amazon wouldn't stock individual discs. Actually, it's probably not economical for anybody to stock individuals discs from a set. The more things you stock in a distribution facility, the higher costs go. You need seperate bins requiring more space; the individual discs would need their own product identification in order to be able to store and find them; and the discs will need some kind of protective packaging increasing costs there. That might not seem too bad, but multiply that across 5 or 6 discs in thousands of multi disc sets. As far as just shipping a new set rather than exchanging, since it was their screwup they'd have to pay for the return postage, and then the'd have to pay for handling and disposal. Just paying one person to open the package; determine the contents; mark the recipet on a system; and place the disc in a disposal bin probably costs more than the materials for the set.
I wouldn't feel too guilty -- they're doing it this way because it's cheaper, and they were the ones who decided not to fix the situation, but rather to keep selling and only deal with the people who complain.

That's actually unfair to Amazon. They cannot "fix" the situation, as it appears that this problem applies to every single R2 set of S5, and I find it interesting that everyone here seems to be assuming that this is a simple cock-up.
The commentary to this episode (R2) starts with JMS saying "Hi, this is Joe Straczynski", as he does on every other commentary throughout the DVD sets, and then goes straight onto his comments on the titles themselves.
The R1 set also begins with the "Hi ..." but then has comments on the pre-credit sequence before going onto the credits.
So, clearly the commentary has been editted down to fit the reduced content on the R2 discs.
This means onw of two possibilities:
either
WHV deliberately (for whatever reason) editted down the episode to omit the pre-credit sequence.
or
The guy responsible for putting together the episode and commentary track had an episode with the pre-credit sequence missing and (a) didn't think it odd that there was no PCS even though all the other eps had one or (b) didn't think it odd that there were an extra 3 minutes of commentary before there were any visuals to go with it, and then just editted out everything between the "Hi" and comments on the S5 titles.
I tend to think that the former is the case - that someone, somewhere actually thought this was the right thing to do.
I have written to WHVUK by both e-mail (no response yet) and snail-mail (should have arrived over the weekend). We'll see what they have to say on it. If anything!

It would appear I am quilty of a misplaced antecedent. The "they" I was referring to would be WBV since they must ultimately make good on their defective merchandise.

And they also send out some replacement discs that still got the same mistake . And they don't seem to feel an obligation to answer to the e-mails of all those people that got the wrong disc again (like me).
I have sent a letter to the Warner Address given for replacements but received no reply, does anyone know a phone number we can ring to request replacement disks for season 5 faulty disk 5, or as anyone else had any luck contacting Warner Home Video about this.
I got this Number from a different B5 website for WBros uk, 020 7984 6100 ask for DVD Customer services, you will probably be put through to an answer phone, they are supposed to ring you back but I had no luck with the ring back somebody else got rung back within the hour, but keep trying everyday and you might get lucky, I got through to a person on my 3rd attempt they took my details and said that they would send a replacement disk as soon as they where ready, I must admit I thought it was like the episode from the simpsons I think it was the episode that homer saw aliens, and he tells chief Wiggim, so the chief says I just type it up on my Imaginary typewriter!!!!!, so heres holding my breath.
I don't really want to go through three pages. Can anybody tell me where these region 2 dvd's were bought? Because I tried to order them from send-it.com and they said s5 is out of stock. Because amazon and others state that r2 will be released in june I suspect send-it just wants me in the database...

Don't know anything about The Netherlands' release dates, but season 5 was released in the UK on 17th January 2005 - I pre-ordered mine from Amazon, and received it on Tuesday or Wednesday of that week - and I believe the German release was a little while before that.
