  • Babylon 5 Season Music

Anyone know where I might find a copy of some of the theme songs of B5? Especially the 5th Season. I've checked the iTunes store, and they don't have it.

(No, don't point me to any p2p nets, I'll pay for this - I just don't know where to find it!)

I purchased the music from season 5 Sleeping in Light. I love it. Plus I can picture the different scenes as the music plays. I purchased it on E-Bay. BTW I just looked back on a Visa bill and found a name. "Keithlives". So if you look this up on E-Bay you might find something. I know that he had several of the seasons episode music. Good luck.

"Anyone know where I might find a copy of some of the theme songs of B5?"

I'm not aware of ANY singing in the theme music for Babylon 5. For "songs", why not try "Enterprise?"

As far as I know, the music of the fifth season of Babylon 5, including the theme music, was never released. There are elements of the them intertwined in other B5 CD's by Chris Francke. I only bought a couple of the CD's and have not been terribly impressed with the music as "stand alone." The music actually used for B5 was very good, but the music on the CD's was pretty shallow, IMO.

I'll even say the same for Evan Chen's Crusade CD. The theme is excellent and full of contradictions of emotions (optimistic, melancholy, wonderous, humorous, etc.). The melody and counterpoint are very well written, especially if you don't concentrate on the fast underlying rhythmic patterns. But the rest of the CD is not the sort of stuff I would choose to listen to for an hour.

I say again, I wish the music Chen wrote for "A Call to Arms" had been released on CD. That music was very well done, and I think even the background / wallpaper music from that effort would be great to listen to as pure music.

"The Ragged Edge" and "Darkness Ascending" are both available as episodic soundtracks. They both contain the Season 5 theme, as well as much of the music used in the Centauri war.

"And so it begins." I liked the theme music from season 5, it was one of the pluses.

I've been thinking of buying CDs from the SonicImages website for quite some time, and my having posted about it earlier in this thread got me to thinking about it again quite a bit.

Has anyone here ever purchased from their website before? If so, did the transaction go well? I tend to get a bit apprehensive of ordering from websites I haven't ordered from before and just was wondering about the experiences of others with that site if they have had any.

I have purchased the complete set. No problems.

I've used them several times with great results. The one time there was a kerfluffle, it was fixed immediately and they sent me a promo CD in apology. Also, once when I bought one of several titles and four of another, I got an email to verify the item I ordered four of (since the 4 key is just above the 1 key) before they charged my card. I thought that was nice of them.

                  I highly recommend them.

Thank you both for your replies. I feel more at ease now, and will probably order from them soon. I feel my B5 music collection is sorely lacking. And while there are many things I wish I had pursued collecting in terms of B5 in the past, these CDs are things that are still available.

                    Thank you two again!

That was something else I meant to mention. There used to be a lot more than there are now. Thirty-some, weren't there, Andrew? So you may want to grab some while you can.

I really wish the music to Rangers was released; I really liked its music. The music at the end of the Naming Of Names ceremony was lovely, not to mention the Ranger theme during the openning credits.

I really liked the No Surrender, No Retreat suite on the Season 4 DVDs, too. Maybe once TMoS comes out, Christopher Franke might be persuaded to release more CDs.

I think in both cases ItF game soundtrack was used.

edit. Ranger theme during opening credits is part of "battle track C" but Naming Of Names seems to be new theme.
