  • Crusade Series Bible? (spoilers?)

After watching the Crusade eps/commentaries on the DVDs, I have found a renewed interest on where that series was going. I have aboput 200 pages left in the Techno-mage trilogy and have read the 3 unproduced scripts. The only new piece of info on the commentary was JMS saying that the Apocalypse (sp?) Box would have been involved in Gideon's ressuresction in Season 2.

That being said I was wondering if there is anyone out there who has one of the few Crusade Series Bibles and could enlighten me about the information contained within. Crusade had SO much potential and I really want to know where it was going.

    Thanks!

There is such a thing as a Crusade series bible!??

    1) If there was, you can be sure JMS has the only legal copy.

    2) If JMS went over the edge and decided to make it commerically available - thus sabbotaging any possibility of continuing the story on his own - it would be a fast seller among lovers of B5 and Crusade.

Yes there is a Series Bible. JMS gave it to all the writers and it had (supposedly, I never saw it, hence the post) a limited outline of where he wanted the show to go so they would not be completely in the dark when writing there eps.

When the show went under JMS made 100 copies of the Bible, signed them, and sold them via the internet (I think, not 100% sure what venue they were sold at/through but they do exist).

        Not exactly.

It was before the show even went on the air, and yes, there were 100 copies that were made available through the B5 Fan Club website - it was www.thestation.com - ... Each one is individually numbered (my copy is #9 of 100) and signed by JMS.

They also have the red fan club symbol stamped on the front cover.

There is information about each of the characters, but such information as Gideon's death is not included.

There is a section with information on the B5 characters during the Crusade timeframe, seen here, as well as the official [rul=http://isnanchordesk.com/b5/style.html]Style Guide[/url].

Yours is numbered? Mine's not numbered, and I got it from the Fan Club. ...Wait a minute, maybe only the autographed ones are numbered. Mine's not autographed, but does have the red stamp.

There were 100 autographed copies sold but I don't think we have information on how many non-autographed copies there were sold. Mine is 73/100. Must have slept late that day. <g>

There's no actual outline but there are clues in the character descriptions and others in the information on original characters from B5. For instance, that's where the information on what the final fate of Lyta and Lennier came from.

Did you have any specific questions?

Yeah . . . from certain allusions that JMS put in the eps I can sorta guess on what would have happened after the Drakh plague was cured, but the biggest mystery for me is the origin of the Apocalypse Box.

And now that you mention it, what exactly would have been Lennier's fate? The link in OmahaStar's post says that he died in action in the Telepath War, but does it go further than that?

              Thanks!

                That's all.

The original script for "Path of Sorrows" had Lyta and Lennier in the Matheson flashback; she was in the cell, and was responsible for the bomb ... We would have seen the back of a Minbari skull, with Lyta facing the camera, screaming "Lennier" and then boom, with those characters killed in the explosion.

What was supposed to happen over the next 4 1/2 years? In minute detail...

Actually, I had heard that there was up to three episodes in the second half of season 1 that involved Dureena, the Thieves Guild and some sword. (There's refernce to it in one of the BOOKFACE scripts...) What was up with that?

In the Crusade commentary, JMS mentions that in unwritten scripts, Dureena would disappear for a couple of episodes and return with no memory but with a sword. This would send her down a path (somehow) to learning Galen's powers but by a darker path, eventually putting them in opposition.

                    Sigh...

I want Crusade back too. At this point, I think I'd be pleased with it back in book form. A series of books with each book focusing on telling the story of one of the characters (with plenty of appearances of other Crusade characters). I'd sure like to see where Durenna's character arc continued as I liked her the most out of all the characters on the show.

No. JMS did not say what was in it, who made it or where it was going.
