I appreciate that High Plains Drifter and The Ninth Configuration are both well made films. I prefer The Ninth Configuration, that is my preference, but I appreciate that both are quality works of art.
My comments on Legend of the Rangers are my perseptions of it's quality, which from my observation of the work is rather poor.
I sometimes like films which I know to be of poor quality, I have a particular fondness for Weird Science, (oh my secret shame) I know it isn't a great film by any stretch of the imagination but I just like it.
I wouldn't bother defending it a great film, or even a good one, it's just one I like. (my preference).
I think my comments were based on observations of the quality of the piece not just gut preference for one thing over another. You may disagree with my observations, countering them with observations of your own. That's what these boards are for.
I am hard on LotR because it's B5 from JMS, a show which has almost infinate possiblities and a writer with proven talent (who created the B5 universe so he should know his onions). The thought that the man who created and wrote most of my favourate tv show can get is SO wrong, when I was SO desperate for it to be right compounds the poor quality of what was presented.
