  • Will you buy Crusade?

I have that dilemma myself, yes i love B5 but i never had big affection for Crusade, not to mention that its "broken" (never got finished).
And not to mention that so far we got all B5 5 seasons with crappy digital transfer to DVD (so Crusade will be the same,or even worse since its 4:3).

So for now my vote goes toward Not Sure.

I voted Yes, though technically I won't. My sister's buying it for me.

I liked Crusade and if it had had a chance to become it's potential I probably would have loved it. The characters were each cool in their own ways and the stories were varied. Anyway, I want to continue to show as much support for the B5 universe as possible so as to 'vote' for more B5 universe stories.

Are you kidding?!?!? Crusade will be better because the DVDs will be 4:3. No more shimmering in the CGI. No cut off parts of the composite CGI scenes. 100% of the CGI will be shown.

Lacking the ability to re-render the CGI to make it 16:9 without enlarging and cropping, 4:3 is what they should have done all along with all of the B5 Season sets and the movie set.

Finally, they're doing the right thing.

Concerning all the complaints about CGI, there is an old saying: Beggars can't be choosers. I am completely happy with my B5 sets. I guess I just don't notice CGI and stuff like that.

As for buying/not buying Crusade, folks, this is your vote. It's still part of the B5 universe and it will be a gauge of its popularity. If it sells as well as the B5 sets did, it will be further indication that TMoS is justified. Besides, it's only $40.
Recently, there was a reckoning. It occurred on November 4, 2014 across the United States. Voters, recognizing the failures of the current leadership and fearing their unchecked abuses of power, elected another party as the new majority. This is a first step toward preventing more damage and undoing some of the damage already done. Hopefully, this is as much as will be required.

I'll be buying it, but then again I would buy a LotR DVD if that would ever come out

            ARE YOU KIDDING!

OF COURSE I HAVE ALREADY PRE-ORDERED MY COPY OF CRUSADE.

Now, where does this voting take place?

Yes, I'll get Crusade. Despite the story of Crusade being far from complete, there are a few episodes I've yet to see, and I would like to be able to see them all without advertisement interruptions.

I am also one that will buy a Rangers DVD if it ever is produced as I actually enjoyed it and just wish it had been allowed to develop into a series.

As JMS said, there are more B5 books on the way. I'm guessing these will be about Crusade and LOTR storylines. But perhaps whether or not to make a book about Crusade will be judged by the Crusade DVD sales? I do hope not, since I dislike the notion of buying only half a season and not knowing if I'm gonna get the rest of the story.

                As for Crusade, then...

Cliche premise. But knowing JMS, nothing is as it seems on the surface. (With the exception of LOTR, possibly -- he was playing with an open hand there, for some reason.)

Interesting characters. Involving Galen was neat, but he didn't seem true to the final Galen of the books. So what happened there?

Music that made me want to violate the composer with a 10-foot pole.

CGI worse than that of B5. Which was a big surprise. I was watching the B5 2nd season yesterday and the CGI is very crisp and definitely on par with current CGI. Which is saying a lot, seeing as how old B5 really is. Crusade's CGI seemed... fake, somehow. Maybe because they relied too much on it. Or maybe because it involved more than just space shots, which are much easier to do.

I hated Crusade when it came out. Hated the actors, the music, the premise, the whole shebang.

In short, I was full of shite about Crusade, as a watching on tape afterwords convinced me. The story is edgier (and therefor of more interest), the actors more subtle, the music more fitting to the new storyline. I realized after maybe the second rewatching that it reallywas (barring the occasional lapses of JMS's penchant for humor like the entire "Visitors from Down the Street" episode) quite excellent. Of course i will get the DVDs.
I believe that when we leave a place, part of it goes with us and part of us remains. Go anywhere in the station, when it is quiet, and just listen. After a while, you will hear the echoes of all our conversations, every thought and word we've exchanged. Long after we are gone .. our voices will linger in these walls for as long as this place remains. But I will admit .. that the part of me that is going .. will very much miss the part of you that is staying.

It seems to me that much like the B5 DVD it will give many people a second look at the series. What it was, and what it could have been. Much like the Fifth season of B5 I had a lot of friends that hated it, I personally didnÆt like it that much myself But when I able to watch it all at once then it seemed like the perfect bookend to the series. So I think that Crusade will be much more liked once people have a chance to see it again.

So i will be buy it as well

Even though they were ended before reaching their full potential, I enjoyed them a great deal. I'll be adding Crusdae to my collection.

It is very interesting to read some of the comments above about Crusade, the music, and the characters.

I personally really like the music because I think it fit the series very well. There was a "quirkiness" about Crusade that I liked.

I have always injoyed the characters and the way they interacted. For me the main characters - the ones I personally enjoyed seeing the most - were Galen and Giddeon, Dureena and Galen, Lt. Matheson and Gideon, Max Eilerson and Dureena, and Gideon and Capt. Elizabeth Lochley. Sorry Dr. Chambers - your character didn't interact with the rest as I remember it.

As we've come to expect with delight, JMS would have taken the story off in some oblique angle after we were starting to get too comfortable. Having experienced the amazing twists of fate for the B5 characters it would have been...would have been (%$#@$@! TNT!)...a very interesting experience.

And congratulations to Michael Malloy for his "Spotlight Review" on Crusade at amazon.com

Mine is the first regular review, after the spotlights. I posted it either yesterday or the day before.

It a shame that show didn't go on any longer I think it would have been interesting to see Galen and Dr. Chambers interact more.

But that is the way of things, but I have to wonder if Dr. Chambers will be the one to replace Dr. Franklin in the TMoS movie. From the Call to Arms commentary it seemed like JMS really like the actress.
