Sorry, but I've never really gotten this analogy. I can see certain similarities, but not enough to put it this way. I'm sure someone has written out a detailed explanation somewhere, so just point me in that direction.

It's always been a heavy source of inspiration, and there are lots of little direct nods and cribs; the show is pretty heavy with LOTR references as well as other fantasy / SF references.
The Rangers, Mordor (Mr. Morden), Za'ha'Dum (Khazad'Dum), The Shadows (black riders).
G'Kar in Revelations (Season 2) - "Expect me when you see me." - also spoken by Gandalf in the first LOTR book.
Elric in The Geometry of Shadows (also Season 2) - "Do not meddle in the affairs of wizards, for they are subtle and quick to anger."
I'm sure there's a lot more if you take the time.
Be seeing you! (the Prisoner).
Kinda fun little nods to fellow nerds!
Sheridan's fall at Z'ha'dum and subsequent rebirth - Gandalf's fall at Khazad'dum and subsequent rebirth as Gandalf the White.
Captain John Sheridan: I really *hate* it when you do that.
Right, but those are nods. I find it a to be a stretch to go from nods to "Lord of The Rings: Space." Not singling sarthaz out. I've heard this reference made many times in the past. I just don't think it applies on the whole, but I am definitely willing for people to try to convince me.
