  • For Fun: Pick your own Lost Tales adventure!

Here's a fun speculative thread. If you could have a new trilogy of ‘Lost Tales’ episodes, what would they be? I’ll get us started:

-The shelved story of Sheridan and Delenn’s son (David)
-Garibaldi finally catches up with Bester
-A Vorlon centric tale, with as few human characters as possible. More Vorlon lore would be ace, but let’s keep it surreal and mysterious in keeping with the rest of the series. Perhaps a new ambassador visiting an alien world. David Lynch to direct this one!
Captain John Sheridan: I really *hate* it when you do that.

    Kosh: Good!

The Adventures of Lyta and G'Kar

The Adventures of G'Kar and Franklin (as seen in the Lost Tales mini-comic)

The story of how Lennier partnered with Lyta in the Telepath War

Those should take up several disks!

Wow! You already took mine so now you are going to force me to think about this.

Definitely something with David. (Let's be honest. Doesn't logic dictate he turn out to be evil in the end. LOL )

Definitely something with Bester and/or Lyta. (Meaning direct or indirect confrontations.)

And I would REALLY like to see Lennier's full redemption, though one of the best things about B5 was that they were brave enough to have a main character exit the show in that manner. Still it has been enough years that I feel we need to see some on screen redemption after his horrible moment of weakness.

P.S. I still reserve the right to come up with more of my own if I think of them.

The Telepath War was the one major event in the B5 timeline that we never got to see. I would especially like to see (as already listed above):

-Garibaldi finally catches up with Bester
-The story of how Lennier partnered with Lyta in the Telepath War

I would also like to see what happened on Centauri Prime between 2262 and 2278.

I know that there are novels that fill in these story gaps, but that's not the same as actually seeing these events on-screen.

Yes that is a point I was trying to get across. Not everyone is going to seek the novels out, if they even know they exist. And really things need to be seen on the screen written in JMS' words, not just from his outlines. I am not criticizing the novels. I'm just saying that the other way is the real way it counts.

            Surprise is on my side.
I'm generally not fleeing from fun.
            But...

            1. No story ideas

            2. No story ideas

            3. No story ideas

Since when is the prime directive no longer in action?

I see your 'no story ideas' and raise you:

              1. No budget
              2. No budget
              3. No budget

I appreciater the reminder and reviewed the thread. Really, there hasn't been anything detailed enough so far to merit being called a story idea.

But do keep it in mind as conversation continues, folks. While it's not likely JMS visits here, we still want to maintain that rule in case he should ever take us up on the standing invite.

                  Great! That helps much.
With threefold no budget my no story ideas projects will start up immediately.

                    Well, well, well.
Form and content is on the edge, I think. But...

Suffering very hard all the years down the road, cause I couldn't tell others my ideas and hopes for possible future B5 <sniff>,
I now will remember this one.

So thinking of more Lost Tales. Outside the obvious tales I'd like to see one where Ivanova returns. You know it had to happen at some point so why not see it play out in a Lost Tale.

How about something with Ta'Lon as the, now senior, Amabassador from Narn?

How about a Lost Tale where the now Independent Mars Colony was forced to deal with alien invasion and Earth Force refuses to come to their aid? (Serves those Mars-ies right!)

If JMS wanted to do a standalone then maybe Zack could deal with a murder mystery.

If he wanted to be topical Lochley could have to deal with a terrorist threat. (I guess she kind of already did in the Voices in The Dark. )

So we're all agreed that, at a minimum, JMS should go back to Comics and force Warner Brothers to give us The Lost Tales Comics, or at least a set of books.

Personally I would like to see a series of episodes showing the Telepath War. Of course seeing the other stories that people have mentioned also would be awesome as well. I'm just thinking of possible episodes with the few remaining actors that are still with us.

Far too many of the B5 actors have gone beyond the rim.

I honestly think we're past the point where the original cast would be able to convincingly reprise their roles within the B5 timeline as we know it (unless it was appropriately forward shifted to naturally age with them). However, I'm nit picking, this thread is for having fun and letting your imagination run wild. Just pretend you have access to the full cast at an appropriate age!

I agree with what Ubik is saying for SOME of the possible tales that could be told. I don't think we could convincingly get much of the actual Telepath War with the remaining cast members. BUT I feel there are plenty of stories to tell post VOICES IN THE DARK leading up to SIL and a few that could take place in a time frame just prior to VOICES IN THE DARK. So I think there are plenty of LOST TALES that could take place in the time frame of post Telepath War that could be pulled off with remaining cast members looking like they have aged a bit.

I do think we deserve to, at a minimum, have The Telepath War as an audio drama, as well as Crusade. There are a few added impediments to The Telepath War with the passing of Doyle, but I'm sure JMS could find away to reference the characters without actually needing the characters.

Here is a question I've been thinking on with this speculation. Do we know for certain that Talia is dead? We know what Bester said, but as was immediately pointed out he was trying to provoke and emotional response. As I've stated before, I've never read the canon books so I don't know if this point was ever brought up, but a reintroduction of Talia could be a big bombshell. I know that delves into the realm of forbidden fruit here,

but I only mention the possibility without any real details of how. You can speculate any character who you did not actually see pass Beyond The Rim on camera is still out there.

Truth66, Ubik and Looney, you argue quite weightful.
                              But/And think about this:

Because I yesterday picked up the "LOST TALES" in my B5 rerun, it seems a good time to post in this thread.

I will insist on my "no story ideas" but present my "actor ideas". <HEHE>

The produced Lost Tales are centered to specific main actors.
"Over Here" is focused on Cpt. Lochley (Tracy Scoggins)
"Over There" is focused on President Sheridan (Bruce Boxleitner)
As we all know, JMS had planned a third Lost Tale focused on Garibaldi (Jerry Doyle).

So, there is obviously this scheme.
What let me guide strictly to my Lost Tales wishes.

It's very sad there never will be Lost Tales dedicated to:
Garibaldi (Jerry Doyle), Dr. Franklin (Richard Biggs), G'Kar (Andreas Katsulas), Vir (Stephen Furst), Cmdr. Sinclair/Valen (Michael O'Hare), Sec.Chief Zack Allen (Jeff Conaway), Zathras/ZaThras/ZathraS (Tim Choate) and others...

                              But what about
a Lost Tale focused on Delenn as Ranger One or ISA President (Mira Furlan)
a Lost Tale focused on Ivanova as EF General or Ranger One (Claudia Christian)
a Lost Tale focused on Psi-Cop Bester (Walter Koenig)
a Lost Tale focused on old emperor Londo Mollari (Peter Jurasik)
a Lost Tale focused on Lyta Alexander (Patricia Tallman)

                              This in the first run.
But that's not all, I wish.

                              What about
a Lost Tale focused on Lennier (Bill Mumy): "Whatever happened to Lennier"
a Lost Tale focused on Mr. Morden (Ed Wasser) - well, a bit unlikely
a Lost Tale focused on Ranger Marcus (Jason Carter) after a hughe progress in healing.
a Lost Tale focused on Talia Winters (Andrea Thompson) - back in time...
a Lost Tale focused on Ranger David Martel (Dylan Neal) - btw. good performing at "Cedar Cove"
a Lost Tale focused on Draal (Louis Turenne) - what the heck is the Great Machine doing when B5 was blown up?

                              And beeing curious...
a Lost Tale focused on the guy who turned of the light: would he've started a new career on Mars? At Earth Dome Central? At the PSi Corps headquarter?
                              Nice to know.

                              OK. That's all for NOW.
