  • That Talia Recording: Weapon or Restorative?

    We've *finally* got an answer!

The question came up a couple of times recently where people claimed that the recording that Abbut made of Talia in "Deathwalker" was supposed to be used to restore her original personality.

Me - I've never thought that "Reflection, surprise, terror. For the future," sounded all that friendly or restorative. So I finally asked JMS on Twitter today and this was his answer:

Both. It could restore her if, say, she were blanked by someone...or given her amped up abilities that backup could be powerful enough to drive, say, a Shadow vessel version of a Dreadnaught. But Andrea left the show before either possibility could be explored.
So! New sorta canon after all these years.

Awesome, I saw the post and thought 'are we debating this AGAIN?!?' Hahaha. Nice to have clarity from the great maker.

This is cool to think about - but why is a Vorlon recording going to be a weapon on a Shadow ship? 🤔

        Hello,

2018, and still talking about it !
I'm unearthing the thread to share my thoughts on the subject, that are converging with what was said earlier.
Find it here https://babylon5.xyz/talia-winters but you'll need a passkey...
maybe you'll find clues elsewhere here about it...

But remember : the password has to be send telepathically, otherwise it won't work

WOW!!!!! Thanks for reviving it. I totally missed this thread in the past. And to add to the mystery could JMS have meant to say, "drive (away), say, a Shadow vessel"?!

Just to echo my sentiment in the other thread, awesome website and a very well researched piece on the 'Talia' mystery!

Can somebody please just tell me the password? Obviously I'm too dense.

              Thanks!
