  • Bruce Gray (1936-2017)

Bruce Gray, who played the Interrogator in Intersections in Real Time and Between the Darkness and the Light, died the other day. He was apparently best known for playing the groom's father in My Big Fat Greek Wedding (sigh), but he had a long career, which also included a part in the first season of Falling Skies (a show I loved, until it completely lost its mind in seasons 4 and 5 when the showrunners changed).

He only appeared in one episode of Babylon 5, but he was superb in it. I'd argue that the Interrogator is one of the best-written, best-performed parts in the entire show.
    R.I.P. Mr. Gray.

However, the main Interrogator in Intersections in Real Time was played by Raye Birk, who was credited as "William".

Bruce Gray was the second Interrogator who started the process all over again at the end of "Intersections". He reprised his role at the start of the following episode, Between the Darkness and the Light.

Mr. Gray also played Dr. Stuart Power--father to Jonathan Power--and voiced the computer, Mentor, in J. Michael Straczynski's first live-action writing gig, Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future.

That was how I found out about his death- Dylan Neal (Capt. David Martel in 'Legend of the Rangers') posted about how nice Gray was to him on that show when Neal played a young Power in a couple of episodes.

Whoops. Changed the original post. He was still excellent in Falling Skies!
