  • Hi res costume pics from a few years ago

    Hi all,

While prowling through the dark seedy underbelly of the internet, I came a across an interesting web page that has lots of close up detailed pictures of some of our favorite costumes. Forgive me if this was posted before.

I think they may have been linked to before but it's the sort of thing that gets searched for fairly regularly so I'm fine with it.

I noticed an article about a museum exhibit about Hollywood costumes a few days ago and wondered if any of the B5 costumes were included but I couldn't find a listing of what was on display.

Jan If you find that link send it on to me. I can certainly take a look into it and see what's represented.

        I think this was it:

That is indeed a beautiful set of images.

Now if I could find pictures of this quality of the "Entil'Zha" costume I might give that one a try ...

Marcus costume is still a mystery though. There have been a lot of pictures of a lot of costumes. The pictures in the beginning of this thread is great, by the way
But you almost never find good pictures of Marcus costume on line. I have managed to get a some ideas of how it is made from watching the show, but some close up photos would be great. Especially of the weird shoulder piece on his coat. Then again, many of the Ranger costumes are rather strange ...

Yeah, they never really seemed to settle on a uniform uniform for the rangers, did they? But that might partly be due to them being an underground force. At least that's my story...

PS: Hey, Satai, where do I know you from elsewhere? Was it B5TV or Trek BBS (or both?)?

I agree. Most Ranger costumes seem to be a blend of Minbari and Human fashion and don't seem to have followed any strict regulation. As you say, them being an underground force having an recognizable uniform is not the best idea. I guess they could choose their own clothing, but within a certain range so they would still be recognizable to each other and rank and such would probably be visible through special fabrics or really old ranger pins perhaps.

PS: Jan, we have met at the B5 podcast forum over at the old Farpoint Media forums and at IMDB's B5 which I used to frequent quite a lot some years ago. I do lurk at some of Facebooks B5 places but mainly visit The Zocalo today or Troys B5 props page as most FB-pages are horrible when it comes to trolls.

I knew I knew you but hadn't seen you for a while! I don't hang out at too many but there are some good ones - plus it's my quixotic mission to keep misinformation down on at least some of the busier pages.

That sounds noble, and tough. Herding trolls sounds only half as rewarding as herding cats

Oh, I don't have anything to do with trolls - which is why I avoid the biggest B5 group and the 'darkside' groups. But there are plenty of well-meaning posters who only hear things that are urban legends. Heck, I and a few others even created an FAQ B5 page because we kept answering the same questions over and over!

Glad to hear it. And I have of course checked the FAQ-page out. That page is a great service to society

Thanks. So many stories have reached urban legend status that we thought a page to help stem the tide might be helpful (and save a lot of typing ).
