  • What ever happened to...[character]...

There are so many characters in the B5 story that seemed to develop only to vanish without explanation.

The one that amuses me the most is Lou Welch. The actor did a good job with the part and we saw a lot of him, then suddenly he simply vanished. What happened to Lou Welch?

I assume it was to pave the way for Zack Allan. No argument about Zack being a terrific addition to the cast, but poor Lou was set adrift with no goodbyes or anything.

In real life, JMS said that the actor wanted to do other things.

In the B5 story...Lou is seen again in the Centrauri trilogy of books. Let me know if you want to be 'spoiled'

Amazing. I guess there just aren't enough actors in California who can fill all the waiter jobs! He's probablly making big bucks at McDonald's flipping hamburgers right now. I haven't seen him in anything on TV.

Does anybody know if he turned up in any acting job, anywhere?

I see. Thanks, Amy. He worked A LOT, before B5, but I saw almost nothing after B5. He's a talented actor and it's a shame he didn't stay with B5.

I don't know why Claudia failed to opt for the last season of B5 either. I really missed her in that season. She was such a strong and charismatic character - and a good actor.

I didn't care much for Lochley until she mixed with Giddeon in Crusade. They had chemistry of camera.

            Way too long a story.

It's been beaten to DEATH on All the various B5 forums.

There are a bunch of "What Happened to CC?" posts archived in the Lurkers Guide.
Here's a link to just ONE of the posts JMS made on the subject.
It demonstrates the sort of arguing that has gone on.

And Claudia's actions effectively ended Jason Carter's reappearance.

Marcus would have been in Crusade otherwise. Claudia would have found something out there that in her ship that would have allowed the resuscitation of Marcus.

That was thrown off track, and later JMS wrote the short story Space, Time and the Incurable Romantic which resolved Marcus and Susan in the future.

Once JMS writes something, he doesn't unwrite it.

The young Telepath who went to Minbar in Legacies

I always wondered if JMS had planned to bring her back sometime...

                              Me too.

I also have always wondered about the final scene in that show where Alisa, Ivanova, and Tallia are saying their goodbyes. Tallia obviously had a serious haircut just before that scene! Or the scene was shot at another time when her hair was very much shorter than it was during the filming of the rest of that show.
