7 more shirts need to be sold so these can get made. I bought 3.

Purple and Green have already surpassed their goals.

C'mon people, this is a cool shirt!

Not to discourage anybody from buying but I think they may have reached the minimum number needed so that the shirts will be made. You might touch base with Ranger Jenny to make sure, though, Mac.

I just checked the web page:

      http://www.tfund.com/FreeBabylon5Mars

      ....and it says....

18 of 25 purchased towards goal.
We only need to sell 7 more tee shirts to reach our goal so our tee shirts will be produced.

I'm aware of that...which is why I suggested checking with Rangers Jenny or Tracy. There was discussion back when the green and purple shirts went on sale as to what the actual minimum would be in order for orders to be fulfilled and it was fewer than the official goal.

Sorry, but since I wasn't involved in that discussion, "Rangers Jenny or Tracy" doesn't ring a bell. I don't know HOW to contact them, what their official handles are or where to contact them (here, on b5tv or on the tfunds page).

Okay, I saw Ranger Jenny online and checked. The minimum number of shirts have been ordered so that all orders will be fulfilled. BUT the charities won't get the full amounts until the entire 25 are ordered. So Order More!

Also, in case anybody wonders, fulfillment will happen after the campaign ends - in the case of the Mars shirts, a little over eight days from now.

Aand....Purple is still leading in the Purple vs Green battle!

We're up to 20 of 25. ONLY 5 LEFT before the quota is met.

Less than five hours for the Drazi Green and Purple, too. And Ranger Jenny tells me that these will *never* be priced as low ever again!

WTF! Did I read that right.

They’re meant to promote the idea of getting B5 back on the telly, with a side dish of providing funds to a couple of charities. Using a hard sell tactic like that – saying the price will go up in the future - might not be exactly the best way to rally support from other (cash strapped) fans, and may even leave a few with the wrong impression about motivations and objectives.

Ultimately, people will vote with their wallets, and if they can’t afford it or don’t like the product, then they can simply not buy a shirt. I expect Jenny is just trying to rally the troops before the campaign concludes. The only point I’d make is that anything more than $15 plus postage for a plain print t-shirt, even if it is for a good cause and to support B5, is over and above what most people will pay. If we are struggling to reach 25 shirts sold at this price point (with some fans buying multiples), then we may not have much luck with a higher price for a second print run. (Edit: I stand corrected on this one, those numbers are good, but $15 seems like the right price point to me.)

I applaud the effort and do not mean to rain on anyone's parade, just trying to give constructive feedback. For future items, I'd strongly encourage cheaper items like stickers and patches. If people don't have to think twice about the cost, more will be sold and it will further the cause, which is what this is all about!

Seriously? Yeah, you read that right. And it was meant to instill a sense of urgency because the clock was running out. If you're looking to get the wrong impression, you'll find a reason.

Anybody who's taken a moment to check out Tfund or CafePress knows that they set the base price of their items. And they have sales. And in this case, probably because Tfund is brand new, their base price for shirts was set really low. It's not likely to be so low again. So, yeah. Prices will never be this low again.

Anybody who hasn't taken a moment to check out Tfund or CafePress will ask questions and take offense elsewhere.

                          ETA: Tfund only offers T-shirts.

ETA 2: Final count on the Drazi shirts: Purple - 60 Green - 44. So I guess we're stunning in Purple!

Those numbers are significantly healthier than I believed them to be. Well done.

That point really can't be emphasised enough. I haven't used Tfund, but used to promote my band's t-shirts on the CafePress site, and the reality was (and is) that the base price was just too high in comparison with buying "normal" t-shirts from a "normal" store.

Even adding just $0.01 to the base price (essentially to round it to the exact dollar rather than leave it at $x.99) meant they were a good couple of pounds more expensive than you could buy better known bands t-shirts in the local shops.

A number of people over the years have said that they would have bought a shirt if they were cheaper, but I can't do them cheaper via CafePress because they are basically being sold at base price already, and have struggled to find a printer (locally or otherwise) who can do shirts to the quality that I want in the low numbers that I want.

That is the problem with print to order stuff ... your pricing really is at the mercy of what the printer chooses to charge for their part of it, expecially if you are looking to either make a profit yourself or raise revenue for charity.
