  • New Babylon 5 Tabletop Game

This is a surprise to me, but Moongoose have released a tabletop game (first of its kind for B5, I believe, since CCG's). The actual set contains just card pieces, totalling at about $50 for the game and pieces, but there is the option of collecting the miniture models for the game as extras, from what I can tell they are really NICE, but expensive along the lines of Warhammer expensive. :-)

    Here's a link:

I don't know about folks here, but I really enjoy a good tabletop game. I even created my own tabletop game based on the Babylon 5 universe several years ago, using card/board and printouts.

I have the Centauri Republic Factbook. I'd like to have the Core Rulebook which doubles as a great B5 reference.
Recently, there was a reckoning. It occurred on November 4, 2014 across the United States. Voters, recognizing the failures of the current leadership and fearing their unchecked abuses of power, elected another party as the new majority. This is a first step toward preventing more damage and undoing some of the damage already done. Hopefully, this is as much as will be required.

I have all of the race books minbari, centauri, earth.narn although my lack of a job right now has put a crmp into my buying spending for mongoose's line of b5 products but I will get them eventually.

Actually, it's not the first. Another company made a tabletop Babylon 5 Wars miniatures game. Another company made the Babylon Project rpg but I think that was published around the time of the CCGs. And the Babylon 5 rpg made by Mongoose came out before their miniature line.
Babylon 5 has probably the most companies owning the license for games.

I don't know how long the miniature game line from Mongoose will last. Miniatures are very expensive to produce and with very little profit. Games Workshop is one of the few companies that has sustained miniatures line for a long time. Certain distributors get iffy about ordering new miniature linessince it's also hard to sell.

I'd be happy with merely cardboard cutouts to play with. Cheap to produce and sell.
