  • Mind War

I just got done reading book 2 of the Bester trilogy, and then I put on Mind war, since that eppy happens right after the end of the book. I had never watched it like that before, and so it was really fun to see all the things I'd missed before.

Hadn't seen the eppy in a long while because my first few times through I wasn't a huge fan of Ironheart and Delenn isn't in this episode.

I have been becoming a much bigger fan of the telepaths and Bester lately, so I watched for him. Ironheart was awesome too, and Talia.

Oh and poor Kelsey! What a way to die!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was sooooo cool how she just kinda disintegrated. I don't know how I didn't goggle over this eppy before.

It's also cool that it takes place in time, just after the disappearance of the Icarus, and just after Byron wimped out and staged his own death. I'm going to try watching more eppies in timeline with the canon novels now.

As a side note I somehow lost disc two of season one, so i had to watch on the wb.com and then I downloaded from itunes.

I'm off to read "the shadow within" and then will watch Morden's first eppy.

The Psi-Corps novels are pretty serviceable. I think I enjoyed the first book over and above the rest of the trilogy. It did a good job of building a new cast of characters and, relatively speaking, a world of its own. I liked everything around the founding of the Corps, and the early history of Bester’s parents and the revolution. The other two novels didn’t grab me quite as much, and I found that the closer they got to established B5 lore and characteres, the worse they got. I felt more could have done far more with the telepath war, but I can understand that JMS might have wanted to keep that in reserve or leave it untold in any great detail.

Captain John Sheridan: I really *hate* it when you do that.

    Kosh: Good!

I loved all three books in the trilogy, and my favorite parts were the ones involving people we already knew from B5.
