  • B5 Short Stories by JMS. Is there anywhere I can read these?

I was wondering if anyone can help?

I’d very much like to read the B5 short stories by JMS that appeared in Amazing Stories and the Official B5 Magazine. Is there anywhere online I can read these? Or does anyone have any scans of the originals?

I realise that sharing scans may be a sticky issue but if I could buy these stories I would. As it stands, that isn’t currently an option. Or, at least, there’s not a collection that I’m aware of.

If anyone can help me out let me know.

umm yes!!? I'd love this also, I know there are serious rights issues with this sort of thing esp. reproducing it online and so on.

"There are no good wars. War is always the worst possible way to resolve differences. It degenerates and corrupts both sides to ever more sordid levels of existence, in their need to gain an advantage over the enemy. Those actively involved in combat are almost always damaged goods for the rest of their lives. If their bodies don't bear scars, their minds do, ofttimes both. Many have said it before, but it can't be said to enough, war is hell. "

I think you have to buy the magazines, but... somewhere, I found the story with Marcus. I just can't remember where.
"And what kind of head of Security would I be if I let people like me know things that I'm not supposed to know? I mean, I know what I know because I have to know it. And if I don't have to know it, I don't tell me, and I don't let anyone else tell me either. " And I can give you reasonable assurances that the head of Security will not report you for doing so."
"Because you won't tell yourself about it?"

FWIW, the short stories are the most requested item that the Scripts Team gets but I gather it's a complicated situation.

I do see various of the magazines available from time to time on Ebay but they're expensive. You're probably more likely to find an affordable copy in lots of several mags when the seller doesn't know what he's got.

As for...alternative, non-official methods...I would ask that any communications about that be kept off of the open forum and taken to PM. As a forum dedicated to a writer, we discourage any hint of impropriety. Thanks.

Cheers all, I will keep an eye out for the various magazines. Bargain bins at comic fairs and charity shops can sometimes yield some real gems.
