So we're (been in a relationship since July of 17. I am now a we) standing at a bus stop outside a well known 4 letter German supermarket, wearing my shoulder bag with two patches on it that Jan sent me a few years back, when a random old guy pointed at the bag and said "Babylon 5" cue several minutes of conversation in a mix of Finnish and English with Essi helping along with thr Finnish
Anyone else have random encounters triggered by a patch or insignia?

What do Babylon 5 and "Mary Poppins Returns" have in common? Jim Norton! Ombuds Wellington, G'Quan and Dr. Lazarenn on B5 became Binnacle in MPR.
Let's see...seems like there was somebody else... Oh, yes! David Warner who played Aldous Gajic in B5 was Admiral Boom in the movie.

not unexpectedly, but whenever i see bishop brennan (jim norton) in father ted i think of bab 5. my user name might give that away
but it also works the other way around, i cant help but laugh when i see bishop brennan adjudicating in Bab 5.

I've been reading about Tibet and China and the Dalai Lama, lately, and today as I was reading I remembered Sheridan's speech when he first took over Babylon 5 and how he mentions visiting the Dalai Lama. And it made me wonder what the state of Tibet was in Sheridan's day and whether it was independent or if he was still living in exile in India. So then I looked up the speech and saw that Sheridan visited them in Tibet, so that was kind of cool. I'm not sure if it was meant as a hopeful political commentary or not, or if Joe gave it that much thought. But it was a good speech, anyway. And I love how it seems no matter what I'm thinking about my brain can almost always bring the topic around to B5 at some point.

My phone was unusually accurate. I was writing "reference to" and it suggested "Babylon" as the next word. As I was also writing about avalanche and pebbles it was the correct suggestion.

Yesterday I had an unexpected Babylon 5 moment as I had fallen asleep in the car and according to my dad snored. Without thinking I said "I don't snore. It's the sound humans make when we meditate."
