  • It turns out that when I see the word transit I think of Sic Transit Vir.

I think, Dan got it. But he didn't tell it.
      Must I? Really?

71016,1644 was the JMS Classic Compuserve ID-No.
In the very early days he posted to the Classic Compuserve Forums
before he later went to AOL and rastb5m.

      • I never had Compuserve; I discovered JMS on the AOL boards. Loved that he was so willing to interact with us and answer questions!

Even I was on Compuserve at that time, I mostly was the quiet reading One.
Cause I was fresh in the "business" of BBS, Forums ...

About 1996 I discovered the Usenet and not far after the SF-NGs.
Of course rastb5m became one of the important for me.

          Going to the present:
Because of the long-lasting downgrade of the Usenet and because I
persistantly dislike -friendly spoken- facebook, twitter, whatsapp,
I'm so happy about the existence of jmsnews. Salute to You Jan!

I didn't migrate over to rastb5m until after JMS left AOL And I admit, I felt like a bit of a stalker when I did.

I'm everywhere - for your convenience. Though I think if JMS ever goes to some of the ones geared for younger folks, I'm gonna have to find a deputy. There's on that's about 98% .gif files that I just really don't grok! Guess I'm getting (have gotten) old...

It degenerates and corrupts both sides to ever more sordid levels of existence, in their need to gain an advantage over the enemy. Many have said it before, but it can't be said to enough, war is hell. "

What "full cast production" would that be? Audio book maybe?

                    • Gino Molinari, from the PKD novel Now Wait for Last Year

A strongly conflicted leader, who made a disastrous alliance. Nursed his illness along to his advantage, timing his death(s).

I read it ages ago and I googled it just now due to recent events.

Which reminds me, I recently played through Spec Ops: The Line.

Bruce Boxleitner was eerie in that, as if touched by the Shadows.

Great job, it's as if he really did his homework as to the context of his voice acting. If you google you can find video clips of his voice from the game.

                        • I went out to have one of my annual chicken salads the other day and the place I went to had gotten new table cloths since last time I was there. The pattern of half circles looked remarkably much like Centauri hairfans.

                          • Watching Arrow, season 5 episode six and encoutnered the following exhange after our antoganist leaves the protagonist (green arrow) a message (in flames, natch)

"'And so it begins'... Who knew Prometheus was a Babylon 5 fanboy?".. "Don't judge until you've seen it."

                              • Zima returns

Miller/Coors has decided to resurrect Zima, so B5's projection of the brand's continued existence into the 23rd century might turn out to be true after all!
