Hi mattius, welcome.
Last I heard, JMS had a 100 million dollar budget in mind for a B5 film. I don't think even the most dedicated fans would be able to raise that kind of money. And JMS has made it clear that he won't go along with any more low-budget B5 offerings.

I'd like to write JMS a personal check for $100 million dollars and let him make something, tis a dream of mine. I wouldn't even want a credit or mention in any way, even if it tanks we'd still watch it, right?Last edited by Marsden; 02-28-2012, 06:12 AM."And what kind of head of Security would I be if I let people like me know things that I'm not supposed to know? I've mentioned this to my wife several times over the years that if I had won tens of millions of dollars or more that I would personally contribute to a new Babylon 5 Universe project. Her response has always been the same: "Obviously I would have to be in charge of the finances" (lol). Oh well, we can all dream.

finally! an advantage to being single! I can be free to spend my (at present virtual) millions on JMS without wifely moderating voices.

It degenerates and corrupts both sides to ever more sordid levels of existence, in their need to gain an advantage over the enemy. Many have said it before, but it can't be said to enough, war is hell. "

I admit, there's been a brief debate over whether we call JMS or Joss Whedon first... I do loves me some Firefly.
This is also why I usually wait until the Powerball hits above $200 million before I play: split the remainder.
Or you know, think REAL big... conference call with those two, Neil Gaiman, and Russel T Davies.
Of course, that might accidentally the Earth.

I often think
with all the junk movies being made, (some good ones but a lot of junk), why not do a Babylon 5 movie. I mean, if you've got all that money to throw at junk why not throw it at a fantastic series and writer like JMS.
I must also admit that I got into Serenity/Firefly after they were cancelled and it's a phenomenal series as well. What makes both that series and B5 is the writing foremost and the way the actors grew and interacted as well.
I don't get on here very often but every once in awhile I get the itch and come back hoping to see that a B5 movie is in the works but alas I have to wait longer. I do believe, however, that it will happen.
