    Does In The Pirkinning count?

    I think it's from Finland...

I think the US does a lot more exporting entertainment than importing. We did get a spoof once of Swedish One Television doing a special behind-the-scenes documentary on secret commercials, like the coffee crystals vs. real brewed coffee. Heh, the "host's" name was like Knorden.

If there ever is shown a swedish tvshow in US, is it shown with english subtitles or is it dubbed?

    Subtext, subtitles... what about subtlety?

Such as using the word "subtitles" in your reply, while maybe rephrasing parts of the post with the correct words and letting the non-native speakers pick up the correction by themselves...
That can work quite well, and is less patronizing for those of us who use English as a second language...

Someone should stop WB (not CRONAN) if that rule is law and they are realeasing with subtitles in only one of the required languages... else someone at WB might even be arrested, or at least fined.

Subtext is the "Reading between the lines" portion of the show.
But bakana, I thought they were talking about the versions of B5 where JMS used Norse mythology to base some of the plots and characters on. They shot it when originally shooting B5, but the way the editors cut the scenes together made the shows completely different.

Kosh was Odin, Sheridan was Thor, etc.

You guys have heard of this Scandinavian Subtext version of B5, right? Right?

Subtext. (The American HeritageĀ« Dictionary of the English Language: Fourth Edition. 2000.)
    1. The implicit meaning or theme of a literary text.
    2. The underlying personality of a dramatic character as implied or indicated by a script or text and interpreted.
Subtext is the "Reading between the lines" portion of the show.

I must arrest you here, because it's a rule that the movies released in Scandinavia (DVD Region 2) contains both swedish, danish and norwegian subtexts. This is done as default on pretty much all of the releases I've seen so far.

I usually watch without subtitling or with English subtitling, but I'm afraid I can't help you if you really want Norwegian subtitles. I haven't heard of any plans to release them with Norwegian subtitles. The Gathering came out with Norwegian subtitles though.

The two first seasons have been released with Swedish subtitling. Also "In The Beginning".

started a topic DVD's with Scandinavian subtexts

    DVD's with Scandinavian subtexts

We have been patient, to say the least, but now I really hope there's something in store for us Scandinavians regarding to a DVD-release with subtexts in our language! I have the complete series on VHS (in addition to all the movies) but without subtexting in my own language there's a lot of things I'm missing.

Does anyone know if there are plans to release the series on DVD in Norway, Sweden, Denmark etc with that appropriate subtexts?
Working...
