  • Johnny Sekka aka Dr. Kyle

I wonder if JMS considered bringing back Dr. Kyle for TMOS. Not really replacing Dr. Franklin at all, but bringing him out of retirement in B5 as it was mentioned in the show.

Realistically speaking, I checked IMDB and it seems that Mr. Sekka hasn't really done anything since 1998. He may even be in retirement for real. He isn't that old. He's in his 60s being that he was born in 1939. Unless the unthinkable has happened to him as well. I would like to see him again.

If TMOS has anything to do with the plague on Earth and Drakh attacks on other worlds then a doctor is needed for the story.

Unlikely. Would be nice, maybe, but the hints about adjusting the script after Richard Biggs's death indicate to me that his intended part was removed, not simply transferred to another doctor.

And Dr. Franklin wasn't part of B5 just for medical matters, so Franklin's intended role in the movie may not have everything (or anything) to do with his being a doctor.

Still, a cameo appearance by Johnny Seka as Dr. Kyle would be nice.

Similar to Grace Lee Whitney's cameo in a couple of Trek films...

        Cartagia: Whoooooo?
Recently, there was a reckoning. It occurred on November 4, 2014 across the United States. Voters, recognizing the failures of the current leadership and fearing their unchecked abuses of power, elected another party as the new majority. This is a first step toward preventing more damage and undoing some of the damage already done. Hopefully, this is as much as will be required.

It's my understanding that Johnny Sekka has retired from the film and television business.

(On a completely unrelated note, I'm composing this from...DragonCon! Woo hoo! Beautiful downtown Atlanta!)

One possible Problem with bringing back Dr. Kyle.

Earthforce recalled him because he was one of only TWO people known to have ever seen a Vorlon outside an encounter suit.

            The other being Lyta.

We know that Lyta ran away because she learned that she, in particular, was not necessarily expected to Survive the sort of questioning PsyCorps and Earthforce had planned for her.

They Really wanted to know Everything they could find out about the Vorlons.

Dr. Kyle might not have survived His "Debriefing" in good shape, either...

He not only survived the debriefing, but became the chief of Xenobiology, then when he retired Dr. Franklin took the position...

Depending on the timeline for TMoS Dr. Kyle may be the current or the former Chief Xenobiologist of Earth Alliance (or whatever else the position is actually named)

I'm still waiting for Jan to arrive so we can poster and flyer for our off-track events! I hope her flight wasn't delayed due to weather...

And, Peter Woodward's nice, but if bum-spanking is going to be involved, there had better be dinner and flowers!

Me too ... I've been worried about her, but I can't tell her that, cuz ya know, gotta put up a strong front and all that.

                    For him or me?

If you get the chance, would you mind asking him what (if anything) he knows about the Crusade dvd release? He did a commentary on "Well of Forever" with Carrie, Fiona, and Janet ... did they do anything else? Were he and Carrie the only cast members to participate on the dvd? Release date? His phone number? anything?

                      1) Jan arrived. Thanks for worrying!

                      2) Questions noted - if I'm not so dazzled by him that I'm struck speechless (yeah, right <g>), I'll see what I can do.

Since nobody bothered to answer my query several days back about cons, I shall present it here, since it seems the subject has popped up as a tangent in this thread.

Besides DragonCon, ComicCon and WizardCon, ATL, SD, CHI, respectively, are there any other "big" cons in the midwest/midsouth? It's like where I live each of the three would all be a long drive, and probably the same distance, and I want to go to a big con.

I went to SW Celebration II in Indy in 2002, but it sucked because it was so one-dimensional (SW only), the events weren't as entertaining (or accessible, it turned out) as they could have been, and it was too damn expensive. i did get to meet one of my favorite authors, Aaron Allston, and worship him for about five minutes before a seminar began. Here is a pic of me and him: http://geocities.com/thetowerofpisa/tgaa.jpg

The guy on the right of the photo is RA Salvatore, who I did not care to meet.

Anyways, where are some big cons closer to me than the triangle of cons I mentioned?

Back on topic. At the most, I would only expect a cameo by Sekka. He left B5 and acting due to health reasons, so I wouldn't plan on any type of return.

And I haven't seen any contact information for him out there ... How can I have a complete B5 autograph collection without him?

Grace Lee Whitney was Yeoman Janice Rand in the ST:TOS.

In a couple of the movies 3?4? she was a communications tech in the StarFleet HQ.
