  • Not a complaint, a question. Honestly.

    Any help would be appreciated...

So it is true that WB are / have been replacing the "faulty" 2nd disc in the season 1 set, for Region 2 buyers (and maybe beyond)? I'm referring to "And The Sky Full Of Stars" with the hologram of a fat Sinclair, etc. - with the idea being that the replacement has fixed the problem.

I've seen something of the sort mentioned (probably on here) - and whilst I hate to be the one to bring up this CGI nonsense again, I'm just interested to know if anyone has received such a replacement. And I suppose, given my previous trouble getting to the right people at WB, to know of relevant contact details.

    Anyone?

    Thanks.

not sure if this helps mate, but in HMV the other day, SEASON 1 is in season 4 box set style, so it looks like they have re-issuied the box set and will be doing the same for other ones as well

      Yes...

You can find the relevant information for a replacement here. Please note: It may be necessary to register before you are able to read the thread...

      Hope I could help you

Yeah, Wrt... It seems that they have gone back and re-issued the whole set in the newer boxes (something I've banged on about before, so I won't here). Fortunately (!) I only got season 2 before the new boxes started being used for all the seasons, so I only have one to replace if my want my shelf to look all nice and neat, like the obsessive I am.

And thank you, Cornholio. I'm going to have a look at that right now. There's nothing worse than a fat Sinclair, so ta for the speedy reply.

Just waiting for confirmation of my registration...

Forgot to say, Wrt: Don't buy the re-packaged season 1 in the hope that "And The Sky Full Of Stars" is "correct" in that one, just in case you might have been planning to do so. It isn't.

Becuase the cost itwould take to reaplce the seasons i might be better off buying them DVD alpha case's with the custom art, not sure yet

Many german DVD fans asked Warner Germany the same question... but unfortunately didn't get a reply yet (which is the case with about 99,99 % of e-mails you send to them...). But maybe you guys have more luck when asking their colleques in England...

@Jump Now: You're welcome. But I have to say it strikes me as rather odd that they still seem to print DVD's with the wrong aspect ratio... really weird.

Wrtworthy : Well, there's a post from me somewhere on these boards, describing my experiences with Warner... suffice to say, it doesn't seem as if they want to issue boxes without discs inside them - even if you offer to pay, supply proof of purchase & let them drill holes in your incisors.

You personally might be better off ordering the cases, if you have most of the seasons (the first 3?) in the old style - but you'd still end up with a lot of spares, as I think you have to order 50 at a time. Perhaps there's somewhere on the 'net where you might be able to order fewer than that? Anyway, I'll probably just end up buying season 2 again at some point, because that's the only one that's different amongst mine. It's as much to keep all the discs better protected as it is to have a nice collection on the shelf, really.

Nope, I'm a north-eastern lad - so far north that some southerners think it's part of Scotland. Which is fair enough, I suppose, being only about 40 miles south of the border. Not far from Newcastle.

Cornholio : Yeah, it's mad. If they've apparently gone to the trouble of re-mastering that disc, why haven't they included it in later issues of the box set? I mean, it's not as if the one I bought can be considered "old stock", since it seems to me that they've only recently changed the boxes. Probably what's happened is that they have one warehouse full of bundles of 6 discs, to go in whichever box they're using at the minute for season 1... and a seperate stash of re-mastered discs to go out to those annoying people who somehow have a problem with an episode which was mastered at 3 in morning by a blind chimpanzee.
