    Close the Blast Doors!

    SpaceDaily has an article about a new observation cupola that's going to be attached to Node-3.

    It looks quite a bit like the observation port in C-and-C... complete with blast doors. Well, debris doors anyhow.

        I never really noticed it before, but could the quote in the title of this thread be a Star Wars nod?
        Recently, there was a reckoning. It occurred on November 4, 2014 across the United States. Voters, recognizing the failures of the current leadership and fearing their unchecked abuses of power, elected another party as the new majority. This is a first step toward preventing more damage and undoing some of the damage already done. Hopefully, this is as much as will be required.

          It's not missing.....they built it, but the US won't fund to have it installed.....it's on the blueprints though!

            That's what I was thinking. Of course, in Star Wars it was only "Open the blast doors, open the blast doors!" until the Special Edition, when Lucas apparently thought it would further the story to precede that line with a different stormtrooper saying "Close the blast doors."

            I believe Sheridan does instruct C&C to close the blast doors in both "The Fall of Night" and "Severed Dreams"

            But speaking of Star Wars, I think the cuppola doesn't resemble 5's observation dome as much as it is a dead ringer for the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon.

              I am at work now, and jmsnews.net is one of the few sites this terminal will open, so I can't check on the production dates for SD, but maybe it was a rib at the SpecEd edition of A New Hope.

                  I think Ivonova yelled a quick order to close the blast doors just before they were struck with debris due to a space battle in progress. I want to say it's in And Now For a Word, but I may be wrong......it could be Severed Dreams. Or it could be a different episode altogether.
