    Keeping something, for whatever reason, and spliting it into 3 pieces and installing it into strange alien technology to convert yourself from one species to another is not usually what you do with something, but then Sinclair/Valen was an extraordinary individual. I meant did he actually tear his link apart or maybe Zathras did it? Maybe it was the last piece needed to allow the converting machine to work, could that mean that any other Minbari that wasn't decended from Valen couldn't have used it? Delenn had the impurities already from Valen/Sinclair and that at least allowed them to accept her marriage to Sheridan but was that also a necessary step to allow conversion in the first place? And there were 3 Triluminaries, did they use 3 pieces of the link?

    BTW, I think this is a cool concept, I was just trying to understand it better as the Triluminaries seemed to be the "key" to the converting machine and since Sinclair used it they had to be there already but his link came with him. Of course, we don't really know how long he was in the time warp, it could have been months or longer, it took Delenn a long time to go through the change and when the Mimbari arrived he was all done so that would have given Zathras time to make them. This is so cool. I've been watching this for years and I'm still finding out more backstory.

    That was after he had had his stint as Commander of Babylon 5, he apparently kept it as a souvenir. I guess he wasn't a fan of the shot glasses.

    There were three of them, were they all pieces of his link and why did he already have them when he turned into Valen (on B4)?

    As for the guess, it's on wikipedia and has been in several threads here and there (but I couldn't find too many recent ones so figured I'd just make a new thread.)

    If you're missing quotes, it's because twitter was being slow on me earlier:

    started a topic Triluminary = Link

    Triluminary = Link

    So those of you who guessed that the center of the triluminary housed Sinclair's Link were apparently correct, as hinted at in Joe's twitter conference the other day. That's why the triluminary is tuned to his DNA. Makes sense.
