With the sad passing of Jeff Conaway and the passage of time for the wonderful remaining cast, I find myself less vehemently opposed to the concept of recasting the roles. I admit I can't imagine anyone replacing Londo or G'Kar, but I found when the thought entered my head this time, the concept as a whole was far less unimaginable than I previously found it.
I know it is something us B5 fans find especially hard to imagine, perhaps as we were deprived of a big movie featuring the cast at the time when they were best placed to deliver it, but are we now reaching the point where the use of the original cast could come at the expense of telling the best story?
I'm still not sold on the idea of recasting, but my negative reaction is not as strong as it used to be.
How long do we hold out the hope of a story featuring the original cast, or do we abandon with sadness the original characters for new tales in the universe we love so much?
