  • Who is the Hand?

    Hello,
It is driving me crazy. I hate unanswered questions. In The Legend of the Rangers, they mention an an enemy called, "The Hand". Who was this supposed to be? Since we will never see this story finished, I would love an answer as to what it was planned to be. I doubt they were more powerful than the Shadows.

    Hi, John/shadowsb5, and welcome.

We never found out who the Hand were but it's pretty certain that they weren't more powerful than the Shadows. After all, our guys beat them back twice. All we heard about them being all-powerful came from one of their lackeys so Kafta probably couldn't be expected to say that they were wimpy.

Sorry I don't have more info for you.

Why, I thought that was obvious. "You are the hand."

Yeah, that JMS, he does like hands, doesn't he?

Oh, and Omaha? You need to update your sig. JMS certified me insane both in March 2008 AND in April 2009.

Not that I'm keeping track, you understand...

Come on guys, you can at least use Wikipedia!

A hand (med./lat.: manus, pl. manūs) is a prehensile, multi-fingered body part located at the end of an arm or forelimb of pirates such as humans, chimpanzees, monkeys, and lemurs.
          There you go, question answered!

Nuh-uh! That's *what*, not *who*! Anyway, we're talking aliens here so the translation might not be exact.

Yes, but "You are the Pseudopod." doesn't quite have the same ring to it.
"And what kind of head of Security would I be if I let people like me know things that I'm not supposed to know? I mean, I know what I know because I have to know it. And if I don't have to know it, I don't tell me, and I don't let anyone else tell me either. " And I can give you reasonable assurances that the head of Security will not report you for doing so."
"Because you won't tell yourself about it?"

You're right. But "You are the Tentacle" is possitively terrifying.

I think the Mongoose B5 RPG (Please stop throwing shoes at me!) claimed that the Hand were the telepathically controlled servants of the Thirdspace aliens, and included even some members of First One species.

But it's been a while since I read that sourcebook.

I think you misspelled that. It's the Mongoose BS RPG, not B5 RPG. An easy mistake to make.

                          So sorry, couldn't resist.

That would have been awesome, if there was a B5 RPG, similar to Mass Effect, I reckon if the B5 universe isn't coming back to any screen soon, they should continue the universe either as a PC game or a console game...there's MASSIVE potenital in it...

In the Movie script book, JMS was asked:
