  • And so it comes to the concluding part..

Just finished watching the final episode of Season 5 of B5, you get the feeling of from seeing Sheridan gradually being shut-down, especially more so because there won't be a Babylon 6....seeing the place blown to pieces...also with the fact that who knows if there will be a new arc in the univese anytime soon....(Touchwood there is..lol)
Many standout moments from the show...particularly with Sheridan, ie when he confronts Kosh to get out of his suit and DO something, or when he confronts the re-programmed Garibaldi about his attitude...(to name but a few..)

Now I'll be watching the River of Souls, and then soon goin onto the doomed Crusade episodes...

Anyone else have any "stand-out moments" for them throughout the seasons???

To many to mention them all, here are a few :

The G'Kar/Vir moment when Vir apologises and G'Kar does his "dead - dead . . . . dead - how do you apologize for that ?" etc

When Delenn arrives at the end of the battle in "Severed Dreams" and gives her " - if you value your lives - " speech

G'Kar's "put your face in the book"

several moments in "Comes the Inquisitor" (one of my all time favourite episodes)

Delenn's arrival and rebuttal of the panel in "Deconstruction of Falling Stars"

      . . . and many more . . .

          All excellent moments of B5, I agree . . .

Funnily enough that was the one that rekindled my interest in Torchwood . . .

Well I consider that to be one of the unique things about B5. A lot of things come along and you say..."Well, it had its moments."

But when the show you are judging is B5, it does not take very long to realise that there are so many of these 'moments' it really obviously becomes a testament to just how well it was written. I mean, even the weaker episodes still have something. How many shows can you really say that about anymore?

It doesn't mean a whole lot when someone just chimes in and says, "I agree with the posts here!" But, that's where I'm at.

So many great B5moments you have listed there but while I watch Torchwood, it is and has never been quality science-fiction by any standard of the imagination. At best it was mediocre and worst laughable. Russell T Davies is a hack writer and let's face it without the current head writer Doctor Who would have been unwatchable. I forget the guy's name but he wrote all the best episodes over the last four or five years of this doctor who revival .

A few of my favourite moments (off the top of my head and borrowed from other posters ) would have to include...

Delenn's arrival and speech in Severed Dreams just as Babylon 5 is moments from being defeated.

Ivanova's speech against the Earth force destroyers with shadow technology.

G'kar's speech about the oppressed would always find a way to freedom.

Marcus telling Neroon thou shalt not pass and the Rangers walking in the places others fear in grey 17 is missing

Neroon - my heart is religious bit as he saves Delenn from the star wheel.

Kosh - and so it begins

Marcus, G'kar and King Arthur - and they hit the floor with a satisfying thump.

The reveal of Valen at the end of war without end part 2.

Delenn to Sheridan - We're all made of star stuff

                amongst many, many, many others!
