  • Newbie alert!

Good afternoon everyone, hope you're all well.

I'm new to this site after being redirect from ISN news. There's a lot more going on here which is great to see so I'm really looking forward to getting into the discussions and the chat.

I feel I have to ask a question, but shall refrain from the big ones asked in the series and instead ask:

Out of all the intro's for each season (including Crusade) which did you all prefer and why? I really like season 4, the music and images work well, but for me it has to be season 5 as it pulls everything together. On that note, the Celestial Sounds suite from the season 4 DVD is excellent too, I'd love there to be more of those made.
I'm a pessimist: that way you're never disappointed but frequently, pleasantly surprised

Glad you made t here I,Z!

If I have to restrict myself to a season opener, it would be Season 5.

For favorites in general I agree that the Celestial Suite is wonderful. I can also listen to track 6 from the In the Beginning CD over and over.

Hey there, nice to meet you.

I agree about season 4, I felt that was the most impactful. Or perhaps the Lost Tales because of the whole G'Kar monologue and its homage to Andreas.

        Another has arrived!

        Hi everyone,

another newbie here, and being "redirected" to this site, I thought it was about time I regiesterd here!...having seen the series from when it first showed and having recently watching it again on the FX channel, after 14-15 years, its like I am watching the episodes for the 1st time!!

I'd say the season, that has Sheridan saying at the start, ...the year is 2259, the name of the place Babylon 5!! (not sure if that season 2 or 3..)

Either Season 1 or 5. The Season 5 intro is epic and beautiful and pulls the story together, but the Season 1 intro has a very unique vibe, mysterious and heavy, like the season itself.

Welcome to I, Zathras and Commander Raiden!

I, too, would go with Season 5. I think it's just that it touches on all the history that I had with the series up to that point. We had a shared past, B5 and I, and that opening hit all those emotional points.

              Kind words

Hi everyone, and cheers for the greetings one and all. Have any of you 'always been here'?

I've not got the CD for In the Beginning, may be an Amazon trip right there.

Smileoftheshadow, that's a cracking shout about the Lost Tales intro, the way the station is rebuilt with the voiceover, its just wonderful. I've been going through my B5 stuff and found the small comic released as a tribute to Richard Biggs and Andreas Katsulas, and that coupled with the line about them exploring and the Youtube vids, it all makes a lovely tribute. Slightly off topic for B5, but I just want to shout out to Leslie Nielsen who passed away recently, that man made me laugh so many times that I should have way more wrinkles than I do. RIP Mr. Nielsen.

Poor Evan Chen, do you think Crusade will get a vote here? I quite liked it I must be honest, it just didn't have the same impact. Still wish there had been some Crusade novels, I think that's what I'd ask Morden for!

FOr the JMSnews forums, I've been around since they went live. For B5, I missed the pilot but saw all the episodes but one in first run.

I really love the Crusade theme and the rest of the music doesn't bother me the way it does some folks. I thought that Chen was showing improvement even in the few episodes we had. But even JMS admits that it probably wasn't a great choice.

                  On a related note...(sort of)

I can't believe that the FX Channel who were airing the episodes of B5, decided today to completley JUMP season 4, and begin season 5 from the 3rd episode!!... It was only because it was on that channel, and my friend had told me about it that I retuned into the series again! Now I've found "alternative" ways to view the episodes!

I saw the B5 pilot on it's first airing and stayed with the series throughout its run. I found the jmsnews archives some time after they came on line, but before the forums were opened up and have been following the forums ever since the came on line.

I, too, liked Evan Chen's music and had no problem with. I like Crusdae quite a bit.

Wow ... it isn't very often that I read a post be someone else and realise that it could have been written by me word for word. You are not one of my multiple personalities are you?
