  • Who's a fan of Zathras?

Now, not Zathras. Zathras is who I'm talking about. No, not Zathras!
Love the guy. Great character. Tim Choate will be sadly missed. To quote his character: "Very sad life. Probably have very sad death. Still, at least there is symmetry."

One of the great things (one of the many) about Babylon 5 was how they could take a tiny, minor, almost insignificant character playing a bit part, who is only in, what, three episodes? And we still remember him.

    Go Zathras!

Well...I liked Zathras a little bit more than Zathras but yeah, they were all okay in my book. And extremely quotable.

Zathras...Cartagia...anybody worry about how well JMS can write flat-out crazy people?

Beyond B5, JMS's take on Gordon Stewart Northcott as played by Jason Butler Harner was interesting.

Let us hope that JMS does not decide to write Jan "insane, but in a good way" Schroeder's biography.

You noticed, perhaps that I chose the word 'crazy' instead of 'insane', right?

He needs to finish his own autobiography, first, anyway. And if it takes as long as that medieval play he's been working on forever, I'll be long gone before he gets around to "The Life and Times of the Insane Miss Jan".

If that is the case, then we shall all meet again, in a place where no shadows fall.

          And it'll be your round!

            Insane...in a good way...
(For anybody who may not have the script books, JMS described me that way in an introduction he wrote to a section of the books I worked on.)

... and I intentionally ignored it.

Great title! Fortunately, JMS will probably never see it.

Have I mentioned that we have two turtles and they're both called Zathras? It was funny explaining that to the vet...

Is there any truth to the rumor that Zathras is his own grandfather?

Kind of like Philip J Fry?
"And what kind of head of Security would I be if I let people like me know things that I'm not supposed to know? I mean, I know what I know because I have to know it. And if I don't have to know it, I don't tell me, and I don't let anyone else tell me either. " And I can give you reasonable assurances that the head of Security will not report you for doing so."
"Because you won't tell yourself about it?"

"I try never to get involved in my own life, too much trouble."

Zathras - love all 10 or was that 8 of them. But The Zathras, not the Zathras or the other Zathrases, I liked the best.

As to being his own grandfather, is there not symmetry in this?

Were they really brothers, or clones as I suspected? Any canon info on this?
