  • Delenn & Lennier's age ???

    Firstly,
    Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays.
May we see something NEW in the B5 universe this year.
Something I dont recall being mentioned...
Delenn & Lennier's age (How old are they ?????).
    Anyone have any ideas ?
ALL THE BEST for the HOLIDAYS & NEW YEAR.
    PLEASE DRIVE/RIDE/FLY SAFELY.

Well, I would guess Delenn is older than Lennier...

Seriously, I cannot recall any on-screen mention of this topic. According to what we have seen and heard from Minbari in various ages and in different time periods during the storyline (including "In the Beginning" and "Deconstruction"), I would presume that the aging of the Minbari is roughly similar to those of humans, although Minbari might just age a little slower and become a little older, or this might very well be only the case with Delenn.
That said, I think the aging process of all the humanoid younger races seems to be roughly the same, regarding the Humans, Minbari, Narn and Centauri.
So, Lennier might be in his late 20s, while Delenn would be more or less Sheridan's age, or they could be just the same age as their actors.

Having thought about that topic for a few lines now, somebody may step up right now and tell me "that's nonsense, I remember the exact quto telling us the age of..."

Haven't watched B5 in a while, was occupied with "The Wire", "The Shield" and "BSG" in the last months during my freetime...

Thanks for reminding us of this, Morden. Been meaning to see what I could find. Didn't find anything concrete about Lennier but I did find this post from JMS:

In human terms, she's probably around her late 40s early 50s,
which is very young still for a Minbari, who can live to be almost 200.

        Thanks all,
It was one of those things that pop into your head at 3:00am. LOL.
Still I find it funny that Lennier IS actually older than Delenn (that is -Bill is older than Mira).
I was born in '64 so I've sort of grown up with Bill.
As cable (here in Australia) has sent B5 to "sometimes/maybe" timeslot,
I've been enjoying FRINGE and SANCTUARY also REISE (on the web).
We (myself, wife & son) tried to get into the new
        Stargate-UNIVERSE but......It just doesn't grab us
(Maybe WE got spoiled by B5) Okay, B5 didn't hit the mark straight away but the characters got you interested and "The VORLON",
I couldn't wait to find out about him/her/it.
        Anyway....TO ALL HAPPY NEW YEAR.
Fingers crossed for something/anything new in OUR Universe.
PLEASE DRIVE (your car)or FLY (your Starfury) or RIDE (your '92 ZX11 NIJNA)SAFELY.
        CHEERS

Since JMS, Bill Mumy, Ron Howard and I were born in the same year, we sort of grew up together, although it is still somewhat strange to think of Will Robinson and Opie Taylor as 55 year old men.

Well the SCIFI channel here in Australia must've read my post !!
New years day they started showing season 5,
and they're showing it every night !!!
Last night I watched The Long Night of Londo Molllari,
What a great episode. Peter did an amazing job as did
Andeas.Special mention to Mira (did she have a "headbone under the vail ????) and Stephen Furst (poor Vir).
Plus,I'd never noticed when Londo says to Sheriden that
he felt that he (Sheriden) was there at his (Londo's)death.
            The only downside............BYRON
(Sorry to Byron fans -I just never got into this character, just a poor replacement for MARCUS).
Of course I'll be watching the rest of the season (gotta keep the veiwing figures up).
We'll see if I can actually make it thru SIL without
            the tears -THIS TIME. LOL.

Aw, why try to get through SIL without tears? I can't think of a better tribute to the show and episode.

BTW, I'm reminded by Jason that it was 12 years ago that B5 began showing on TNT.

In episode 6 of season 4, when Delenn showed up at the University, they mentioned that she was around 140 and this was to be taking place 100 years after the Alliance was formed so i suspect she was around 40. Lennier I suspect was around 30 in the show from what I can gather due that Delenn was his mentor. But I do not know for sure. Sheridan was around 42-43 when he died at ZaHadum, because he mentioned that he would be in his early 60's after the 20 additional years given to him from Lorien.

                    Yup, Sorry my bad !!!

I've been watching so much B5 over the break,
I still look forward to seeing what's gonna happen
(even though I know what's coming) and watching on my
42" screen makes me appreciate the quality of work even more.
                    Cheers

I rewatched 'The Quality of Mercy' the other day and noticed that when Lennier is in the casino with Londo he mentions his eleventy-first or eleventy-second year studying temple. Now this may just be Minbari counting style, or could be implying that Lennier is over a hundred years old.

However, I'm betting that there's probably something in the Chronologies. I'll have to check when I get home unless somebody beats me to it.
