  • What order should I view Season 1 Signs and Portents?

I was wondering what Order I should view season 1 "Signs and Portents" I can't find a listing anywhere on here. I know from the B5 scripts that Mind War was pushed forward (And another one I think was mentioned.) So I wondered what the correct order was supposed to be. And what was the date that B5 officially opened?

Thanks a lot for your help. (And here crossing my fingers that B5 comes out in Blu-Ray.)

    2. 1- 3 102 02 Feb 94 Soul Hunter

So JMS hasn't posted his intended order then? I know in other posts he has mentioned the order for all most all of seasons, 2-5. I just wanted to find out how he wanted it to be so I can sit down and watch them in that order.

I know 103,102,101 are first and 112 is last but everything else I'm not sure about. Presumably production order but the in the first season that's not a guarantee.

        Wouldn't it be this?

Thank you. That's a nice site but unfortunately not entirely correct. For example And Now for a Word and There All the Honor Lies are backwards based on what JMS has said on this site. Which is why I'm trying to find out if he has said/documented anything about his intended order of season one.

"To allow for more time to finish the EFX work and some audio work,
we'll probably reverse the first few episodes and start with "There All
the Honor Lies" at the end of April, and spring "And Now for a Word" as
the first true May sweeps episode."

I'm crossing my fingers the JMS will post an answer to this for us all.

Sorry, Shades...JMS doesn't post here and as far as we know, doesn't read here either. The archives are copies of JMS' posts from (mostly) the moderated Usenet group rec.arts.sf.tv.babylon5.moderated.

This is the list as PTEN had it and the current online WB channel has it:

                1. Midnight on the Firing Line
                2. Soul Hunter
                3. Born to the Purple
                4. Infection
                5. The Parliament of Dreams
                6. Mind War
                7. The War Prayer
                8. And the Sky Full of Stars
                9. Deathwalker
                10. Believers
                11. Survivors
                12. Signs and Portents
                13. By Any Means Necessary
                14. The Quality of Mercy
                15. Grail
                16. Eyes
                17. TKO
                18. A Voice in the Wilderness Part I
                19. A Voice in the Wilderness Part II
                20. Babylon Squared
                21. Legacies
                22. Chrysalis

As to whether this was the intended order - circumstances shifted things around here and there. jms would sometimes write episodes so that they could be aired in a number of orders (he specifically said Voice and Babylon Squared were written this way); some episodes like Grail were held back for EFX work (the creature); some got moved because PTEN wanted it (Mind War).

The site is thewb.com. They cycle through seasons though so only one season is viewable at a time. I don't know how often they cycle through (currently season 3 is up)
