  • Takeing Action on Uk DVD relase

I want to know who wants to join in takeing action aganist JMS and WB regarding the relase of the DVD's and how unfair we are treated compared to the USA,

I am so sick of waiting and the 15th of novemeber is disgraceful date for the relase of Season 5, Epseicaly as i havent sene season 5 due to the fact it was shown at 2 in the morning when it was shown,

    im so fed up

Though i really understand your anger( i dont think the releasedate for season 5 will be any different here in Germany) i highly doubt that JMS has anything to do with the unfair releasedates concerning region 1 and 2 dvd's.

I would support any idea that seeks to protest against WB with the exception of a boycott of season 5 dvds.

First, take WHAT action? Sue? Hardly likely. Boycott? Isn't that cutting off your nose to spite your face? Something else?

Second, JMS has zero, zip, nada, nothing to do with it. You can be certain that he was never consulted.

      Sorry you're frustrated.

Copyrights and other legal mumbo jumbe could be the cause of the late release....or it could be because the UK and others saw the original broadcasts of Babylon5 before all of us in the states.

Don't take your anger out on JMS, WRTWORTHY. He has nothing to do with decisions about release dates of the DVDs.

You need to hire Algore to get this movement going. Or at least hire Daryl Hannah to play him.
Recently, there was a reckoning. It occurred on November 4, 2014 across the United States. Voters, recognizing the failures of the current leadership and fearing their unchecked abuses of power, elected another party as the new majority. This is a first step toward preventing more damage and undoing some of the damage already done. Hopefully, this is as much as will be required.

Warner Bros. DVD division in the U.K. makes it own decisions in these matters based on local market conditions, production capacity and the sales potential of the many titles vying for a limited number of production and distribution slots. Since no boycott or protest or letter-writing campaign is going to change these underlying realties, it is hard to see the point. And pestering JMS and/or Warner Home Video in Burbank would be even less effective, given that they have no control over what Warner's UK Video division does over there.

I am sorry but I too must agree, unless you do what I did, after losing patience, and bought the set from a reputable R1 supplier on the net. There are many to choose from (play.com, amazon, US DIRECT to name just a few). Though I have to say that I take your point. It really is a frustrating, long wait. And exactly WHAT can you do? Any move of the type that you describe will only make WB less inclined to release more B5 than they are now. As for contacting JMS, well I for one am certain that if it were up to him, he would have had as much to do with it as he could.

To save yourself the agony over the B5 MOVIES BOX, DO BUY THE R1 set as the R2 set is inferior (The Gathering is excluded - I think so anyway, I could be wrong!!!). It's not worth getting tied up in knots over, because the 'company' (regardless of which oarticular one it happens to be) is ALWAYS going to do these things its own way.

Yep. Vote with your wallet, if you can. WB UK will take heed if they see their sales dropping in favor of R1 DVDs.
I believe that when we leave a place, part of it goes with us and part of us remains. Go anywhere in the station, when it is quiet, and just listen. After a while, you will hear the echoes of all our conversations, every thought and word we've exchanged. Long after we are gone .. our voices will linger in these walls for as long as this place remains. But I will admit .. that the part of me that is going .. will very much miss the part of you that is staying.

                    But wait, dont stop there.

Start spreading (dis)information to the effect that the R1 dvds are better than R2. Tell all your friends. Use the internet. Stage a minor revolt. Hurt WB UK the *right* way.

                    That'll show them.

I admit first off that I'm not from the UK, nor am I an expert in International economies, but my take on it is, if you hurt sales in the UK by buying the R1 release (which I have no problem with either way) then not only do you prevent or reduce the likelihood of ever seeing other releases in the UK (so those without an R1 DVD player cannot buy *anything* B5), but when the movie is released you guys may not even *see* it if WB thinks there is no demand. Sorry guys, but anything you do only hurts you, not WB, not JMS. Your call.
