  • Final Fates

Im reading #20 of the B5 Magazine 2/2000.

jms mentions his triple encrypted file having been in a binder behind his desk for years. (Perhaps this is one of the things the script books people will release.)

The article mentions that the final fate of characters is included in these notes.

"Garabaldi's death (A much quieter passing than he would have imagined for himself), Franklin's final fate on a distant unexplored planet, Delenn's final journey (involving a quest for Valen, though no one else believes it), Lennier's sacrifice..."

Other than Lennier, I haven't heard of these storylines ever really having been touched upon. Franklin's being beyond the rim in Lost Tales could refer to the fate mentioned above. Anybody have any more infomation or comments on this little tidbit?

What a wonderful world you live in. -
Yeah, well, the rent is cheap, the pay is decent and I get to make my own hours.

    Fingers crossed!

...Delenn's final journey (involving a quest for Valen, though no one else believes it)...
My woolgathering has me imagine that when Valen vanished, he was taken, similar to Sheridan, by the Vorlons. Part of me wants to believe that Valen is in "storage" on the Vorlon homeworld like Sebastian. For me, I'd like to think that Delenn went on this final journey to find her old friend and ancestor.

I'd also like to think that Sinclair and Sheridan are both together "beyond the rim" with the First Ones, an eternal gift for all they sacrificed in the Great Wars.

Whatever it is, it sure would've made a nice Lost Tales. Damn WB!

The romantic in me likes to think that Delenn's words "We will see each other, at the end of time, in a place where no shadows fall" will eventually come true and she will be reunited with Sheridan when her time comes.

All in all, I had no idea such an outline (final fates) existed, but I must admit: as curious as I am to find out what will eventually happen to all of those characters, I would rather not know. That leaves room for hopes and dreams
It's easy to find something worth dying for. Do you have something worth living for?

I also believe that Sinclair went BTR when he "vanished" and that Delenn does the same.
I believe that when we leave a place, part of it goes with us and part of us remains. Go anywhere in the station, when it is quiet, and just listen. After a while, you will hear the echoes of all our conversations, every thought and word we've exchanged. Long after we are gone .. our voices will linger in these walls for as long as this place remains. But I will admit .. that the part of me that is going .. will very much miss the part of you that is staying.
