Think I watched it all within a week. I know I stayed up all night twice so I could continue watching, even though I had work the next day. So true that, marathon watching and no adverts either!

And I suppose I could be living in a worse B5 era ...............

In about ten or twenty years, WB will reboot B5, with a completely new cast, and new storyline, and it will likely be horrendous because JMS won't be involved at all, or just barely, and the new showrunner will be a typical studio hack. Luckily it will be canceled early, and that will be the last anyone hears of Babylon 5 until in about two hundred years when we build the real thing.

At least you could probably wath it without months-long gaps between episodes...Lucky you!
The memory of shadows is a great title! bet that would have been fun!!!
Maybe...there were some pretty substantial rumors that the original cast would have been relegated to cameo appearances IF they weren't completely recast. There was a letter-writing campaign and everything.

    Thanks Jan

I went to the Lost Tales board on IMDb since that was the very last, unless we count the script books, of course.

No, the trilogies were all out by late 2001, iirc. The Lost Tales came out in 2007. Not sure what book series was being discussed because the Script books didn't happen until Oct. 2005. Possibly the Mongoose proposed novels that never happened (and blew up in 2006 as I recall)? And the movie being discussed would almost certainly have been "The Memory of Shadows".

Ahhh the sweet innocence of 2004. This was actually before the book trilogies and the Lost Tales? "sighs* Wish I could travel back in time for that, although I suppose the advantage in becoming a fan after it was all over is that I didn't have to wait for anything new. I kinda hate waiting.

The Rangers movie never went on to series due in part to the ratings being lower than hoped combined with WB not wanting to share ownership with the Sci-Fi channel from what I understand.

As for the continuation of the series, there won't be another Baylon 5 but there's always hope for more stories in the B5 universe. For instance, right now we're waiting for information on a movie that JMS has been unable to discuss openly. Warner Bros. must make the official announcement and it hasn't come yet. We do know that the title will be "The Memory of Shadows".

There will also be a new series of books. We don't know anything more than that yet.

Keep your hopes up and keep buying the DVDs if you can. These new things seem to have started happening because of the great sales that they've experienced.

    Hope this helps,

Well I read alot now so tell me if its correct somehow.

TNT canned Crusade because they wanted to do something what JMS didnt want do to. I dont know what this is I only know that I liked Crusade like it was.

Then SCi-Fi wanted Crusade but they were asked a high price for it which they couldnt afford.

I was cheering for Legend of the Rangers to go to a series... not because I liked the movie, but I figured JMS would pick up the Crusade-Virus arc, and move it over to the new series. In other words, TNT killed the show, but not the story.
And I think Sci-Fi Channel was foolish to turn it down. It had a built-in audience, a producer proven to be reliable and bring in shows *under* budget (important for a small station like SFC), and all the set/actors already hired and in place. It was a no brainer IMHO. About equivalent to refusing to make Star Trek.
They somehow got Legend of the Rangers later but canned it also for some reason? Maybe they expected something like original babylon 5 out of it.
Ah the weapon system was really a silly one

And there is no hope for a new series line.

    Is this correct?

started a topic Will babylon 5 continuation?

    Will babylon 5 continuation?

I read in various news pages that it should. However this news are really old 6 months exactly and there should been an announcement 1 month after the news was posted but I couldn't find anything. So where do they stand now?

Also. If possible I would like to know why Crusade and Rangers were never completed. I really started to like all the people in Crusade and even in the rangers after just 1 movie.
