ok, time for the battle of the eon. Let's discuss somewhat logically how the following characters one from B5 one fromany other scifi would fare in a fight:

    Lyta vs. Deanna troi

    Kosh vs Q

Sheridan and crew vs Picard and crew.

    G'Kar vs Worf

Londo vs Quark--this one will be a head game

if you can think of any others add them in

Lyta vs. Deanna troi Lyta - She is a full teep, and she's been altered by the Vorlons. Deanna is an empath, only half-teep.

Kosh vs Q Q ... As much as I love Kosh, Q is more powerful. Yeah Kosh can break pieces off of himself, but he needs a host body to get anywhere ... Q can just do it.

Sheridan and crew vs Picard and crew. I'm not touching this one. I'm fond of them equally.

G'Kar vs Worf G'Kar - He's got the whole Narn Bat Squad at his disposal. ... Without the NBS, then Worfie gets it.

Londo vs Quark--this one will be a head game Londo ... He rules the planet. Quark can't even rule his bar without his brother's help ...

what do you think of this?

Lyta vs. Troi--i agrea Omaha--no way Troi would hold a candle to her. Though it would be comical to see her try.."Oh, Captain she is hurting my mind. I..can't..concentrate...Why..do..I...suddenly want to...make mad passionate love to....a Pak'ma'rah? what is a Pak'ma'rah?'

      Lyta /lite devilish grin.
      -----------------------

Kosh vs Q--again I agree, although Q wouldn't kill him, he would probably keep antagonizing him. Asking him what he means.
      ------------------------

Sheridan and crew vs Picard and crew: I love both as well. However, it becomes a question of ability. While Picard can fight when he has to, he is much more an ambassador. Always trying to find the peaceful solution even if it means being stupid.
Whereas Sheridan is more of the military cloth. Yes he will use the peaceful solution. But if he the chips are down, ad he has to choose between being pacifist or taking a stand, you can bet your **edit** he will take a stand..I was 18 when the show came out and I still live by the motto his dad taught him (which eerily enough is exactly what my dad taught me)--"Never start a fight, but alway finish it."

As for the 2 crews , I am sorry, but what military have you ever seen that allows anyone regardless of rank to attempt to countermand a superiors orders..On Trek it happens all the time--but how many times did you see it happen on B5. Not very many..If they did disagree, they didn't countermand, they did what you are taught in that situation, you resign, but you don't break the chain of command. I mean that was the hole point of their succesion from EA. On Trek, if they had done it, they wouldhave went on the next episode like nothing happened.

So I think that while the moral ground qould be shaky at best for the winner, the test of loyalty goes to B5..sorry Trekkies, i would say the same on your board..If you dispute this then post..
      ---------------------------------------

Worf vs G'kar: ok granted the Narn Bat Squad is an ok--(WHAMM!!)-- good--(WHAMMM!!!WHAMMM!!)--the best group of fighters the universe.(/flinches and looks over shoulder through blurry eyes at the menacing NBS member standing over his shoulder glaring down at him with a slite smile of approval). I am speaking of one on one. I think it would start out as one hell of a fight, because neither would pull a weapone til the other did. Both are excellent hand-to-hand combatants who use the breaks in between to asses their enemy. Soon they would find their similarities in culture and agree to end it over a barrel of blood wine.
      (WHAMMM!!!)
(to the NBS member)"what was that for?"
NBS member, "I don't know, I tell you what I will keep doing it"(WHAMM!!) "until I can remember why.."
      (WHAMM!!WHAMM!!!WHAMM!!!WHAMM!!)
      .....please....someone....call....a....medic....
NBS member:"Oh, stop with the begging. It only make me want to hit you again."(WHAM!!!)"Oh, I don't think that was supposed to bend that way. Here, I am sorry. I will send your post for you.."

Lyta by a landslide. Either by psi or a good old fashioned slug.

        Kosh vs Q
Kosh is wiser, but he can't reverse planetary gravity fields at will.

Sheridan and crew vs Picard and crew.
The Dock-Rats of B5 would tear the security team of Enterprise to pieces. Even Worf couldn't stand against that mob.

        G'Kar vs Worf
I might give an edge to Worf, simply because G'Kar doesn't fight that often, but I prefer to think they'd both end up in a bloody pulp.

Londo vs Quark--this one will be a head game
In a casino, with cards for money - Quark. Anyplace else, Londo.

        Further pairings -

        Crusher vs. Franklin, with scalpels.

Vir vs. Wesley - battle of the wimps.

Data vs. the Creature from Infection

Shadow battle crab vs. Borq cube.

        More as I get 'em.

EDIT - Because I just wanna - Captain John Sheridan vs. Captain Malcolm Reynolds of Firefly. Fists only.

Yeah, I know you had the Trek thing going, but I wanna see that.

Vir would kick his ass. Simple. Wesley would run home to mummy.

(ever see the one where Vir goes after the Drazi with a sword for bugging his groceries?)

EDIT - Because I just wanna - Captain John Sheridan vs. Captain Malcolm Reynolds of Firefly. Fists only.
Crusher - Let's face it, for an entire season, nearly every one of her patients died. Most of Franklin's lived.

Wesley - He has a hot ass. *Rawr*

Data - Well, he's an android. It's easier to kill the creature.

Borg cube - easy victory. Now, give me a Shadow or Vorlon planet killer, and then you've got a winner.

Sheridan - Sheridan fought against the gods and won. The worst Malcolm's ever done is spend an episode naked in the desert.

              B5 vs. FS?

Shall we expand this to Farscape too?

John Sheridan vs. John Crichton (this might get complicated with the twinning)

              Sheridan vs. Crais

              Sheridan vs. Scorpius

              G'Kar vs. D'Argo

              Lyta vs. Zahn (mind battle)
              Lyta vs. Chiana (Jello wrestling)

              Ivanova vs. Chiana

              Ivanova vs. Aeryn Sun

              Morden vs. Braca

              Bester vs. Scorpius

              Bester vs. Stark

              Excalibur vs. Peacekeeper Command Carrier

              White Star vs. Talyn

              Franklin vs. Noranti

Londo vs. Rygel (battle of wits)
Such... is the respect paid to science that the most absurd opinions may become current, provided they are expressed in language, the sound of which recalls some well-known scientific phrase

Uh, Sheridan never even bitch-slapped Kosh around. He yelled at him, but Kosh had him by the throat. It's a fistfight, a brawl, not Into the Fire with the White Stars vs. Serenity (which I might add doesn't have frickin' guns). Get it together.

                  this is more like it

ok great, but don't just mention new pairing, try to give your opinion on ones already mentioned, and to answer Captn Montoya's question...Yes there is no limit to what scifi show you wanna mention..as long as it lasted long enough to gain some notice..for example I will give a truckload of Narn Spoo to the first ones who can remember the actors from Space Rangers--
                  ----------------------
here is my answers to the new contests posted so far:
i must admit I tried to get into Farscape, I really did. However, it kinda lost me, then i was really dissapointed in the series finale, but anyway, my opinion:

Sheridan vs Crichton: I am sorry, but it has to go to Sheridan. unless you are talking an insult contest. Then Crichton will have it hands down.

sorry but not familiar with the other characters enough to give a valid opinion.
                  ------------------------
                  here is a new one:from Stargare SG-1
                  Shadows vs Ga'uld

                  Kosh vs. Anubis

                  SG-1 vs. Rangers: hand-to-hand
                  ------------------------

General Note: Unless you specify a type of battle, it is assumed the fight is a free-for-all.--to answer posts above

If you will just step over to Grudge Match you will see this sort of thing done well.

In particular, you might enjoy Babylon 5 versus Deep Space 9 and Cmdr. Susan Ivanova v Seven of Nine v Princess Leia.
I believe that when we leave a place, part of it goes with us and part of us remains. Go anywhere in the station, when it is quiet, and just listen. After a while, you will hear the echoes of all our conversations, every thought and word we've exchanged. Long after we are gone .. our voices will linger in these walls for as long as this place remains. But I will admit .. that the part of me that is going .. will very much miss the part of you that is staying.

ooo. this should be a good one

                      hey how about this one:

Vorlon Planet Killer vs. Death Star: no support ships allowed

                      -------------
                      also to answer above:
Vir vs. Wesley--Vir by default..Wesley would show up, but as soon as he started to lose he would use his "time-space warping" ability to phase out of the battle..

Damn - I was looking for that site again just the other day. They've moved it round and round and I think it even hit a cell-phone service at one point. I read it originally back in '95. Gracias.

I know this thread is really old, but Babylon 5 and Farscape are my two favorite shows so I just had to respond:

John Sheridan vs. John Crichton (this might get complicated with the twinning) = If it's just regular combat and just Sheridan and Crighton by themselves, then I would say Sheridan every time, but if Aeryn and baby D'Argo were in danger and Crighton had access to a wormhole, then Crighton would win.

                          Sheridan vs. Crais = Sheridan

Sheridan vs. Scorpius = This one is really tough, and I'm not sure who would win, esp if Sheridan had no one to help him. But, prolly, Sheridan, in the end, by a very slim margin.

                          G'Kar vs. D'Argo = D'Argo!

Lyta vs. Zahn (mind battle) = That would be really fun to watch, but if we're going with season 5 Lyta, then she would likely win, though I don't think it's be as easy as she might assume.

Lyta vs. Chiana (Jello wrestling) = Chiana would totes win the Jello wresting contest!

Ivanova vs. Chiana = Again would be very interesting to see, but probably Ivanova.

Ivanova vs. Aeryn Sun = Aeryn absolutely!!!!!

Morden vs. Braca = If Morden had the help of the Shadows, then he would win, if he had to fight on his own, then Braca.

Bester vs. Scorpius = oooh that would also be really fun to see, but in the end I'd prolly bet on Bester coming out on top, although far more likely the two would become best friends and would decide rather than fighting to become evil allies.

Bester vs. Stark = Both are crazy, but Bester was more in control, so I'd prolly maybe give this one to Stark. I think Bester would get cocky and would underestimate Stark's abilities.

Excalibur vs. Peacekeeper Command Carrier = Peacekeepers would win methinks, but then again, maybe not.

White Star vs. Talyn = Noooooooo! I love Talyn. I don't want to see him hurt. "hides Talyn so White Star can't find him"

Franklin vs. Noranti = Noranti!!! She's sneakier.

Londo vs. Rygel (battle of wits = Londo definitely, and in the end the two would either kill one another or be fast friends!

                          This was fun
