  • Things you wish jms wrote more about

As jms built a rich world to write his stories in, he threw out details that were never delved into any further. I'm not thinking about big plot points like the telepath war, David finding a keeper, etc...., but some of the smaller details.

Some examples to me would be, a better backround and follow up on the raiders from seasons 1&2, actually hearing a Pak'ma'ra sing, Franklin's hitchiking on alien vessels, Londo meeting his wives.

What little things would you have liked to have seen followed up?

(I apologize if there is a thread like this already.)
What a wonderful world you live in. -
Yeah, well, the rent is cheap, the pay is decent and I get to make my own hours.

    [QUOTE=glindros;53363]actually hearing a Pak'ma'ra sing/QUOTE]

I'd be absolutely against that. The way it suddenly shows up in the last episode, after they have been portrayed as disgusting and lazy for so long... it just whacks you over the head. And it's much more powerful when combined with Vir's fond memories of Londo.

Personally, I would like to have seen more Sinclair. Not necessarily what happens to him later/previously (get it? nyahaha *gargle*), but more messages from him during the second and early third season, establishing him as a behind-the-scenes player, might have been good. Then again, maybe that would make his eventual reapparance in WWE less powerful, so...

    More Bo and Mack!

I would have loved more Stephen Franklin on Earth. *tear*

I agree, Bo and Mack are awesome.

          1. CRUSADE ! Oh, that's right, you said little things.

          2. Ivanova's first few months commanding a Warlock Destroyer, including "Hidden Agendas."

          3. What happened to Lennier after he left in disgrace.

          4. The experiments at Psi Corps. that led to Jason Ironheart's change.

          5. IPX digging up the Shadow Battlecrab on Mars. Sinclair and Garibaldi were in the area, too. Might be tough showing Garibaldi now, with hair.

          6. "The Shadow Within" filmed.

Corwin coming out of the closet? I'd like to see that.

And more Jane. That's my standard answer. :P

The Telepath War could have been it's own series.

I'd love to see what happened when Lyta came back to fulfill her vow to Garibaldi and how she collected on it. (yes some of it was address in the Psi-Corp trilogy, but it really needs fleshed out)

Also how the Shadows made their inroads into Earth Alliance.

Would be nice to also see the fall of David. We get the end of it in the Centauri Trilogy, but need the missing pieces put together. I think it would also be a good way to show Lennier's return.

There was a bit of Sinclair & Garibaldi on Mars in the comic. Would have been cool to see the comic as part of the live action episodes!

There was a bit more on this in the short-story "The Nautilus Coil"

Your comment about the Pakmara reminded me of Stephen King long ago talking about writing (the context was of course horror,) and he said that there are times when no writing can surpass what the imagination creates for us.

His example, and this is by very poor memory, was that if you know the scariest thing ever is right behind the door the hero is approaching... Well it literally is the scariest thing ever! But if the writer tells you there is a 40 foot monster behind the door, well you can handle that because it is just a 40 foot monster!

I think the Pakmara singing is like that monster, it cannot be conveyed how beautiful it is supposed to be. If they tried to put a sound to it, the magic, whatever we have all placed in our mind as that sound would be gone...

Oh, and rants like this are exactly why I should not post after the office Christmas Party

I would have loved to see much more about Byron, maybe even a spin-off...!

No, guys, just kidding, I hate him.

I'm with KoshN, more Crusade would have been the best.

As for the small things... well, little sidestories about the fates of Takashima and Talia would have been nice, and a conclusion to the "Bureau 13"-thread (yes, I know they know they weren't allowed to use the name again).

                      And who are THE HAND???

That was answered in the episode. Don't you remember? "You are the hand."

There was more on Byron in the Psi Corps Trilogy, since he was Bester's partner at one point. I like that character personally.
