  • Best/Worst episode

Best - it changes all the time. But at the moment it's severed Dreams ( but that could change)

Worst - TKO The Jewish ceremony sub plot is interesting but out of place. But the main plot about the boxing is dire cliche si fi.

I'm sure someone can confirm this, but I believe JMS' worst are infection, and Grey 17 is missing.

I'd be inclined to agree with him.

jms also mentions Learning Curve in the script books as one he'd like to see disappear. I think with Grey 17 he said it was about half good. Also he mentions Exogenesis not being as good as he hoped.

The great thing about Babylon 5 is that episodes are so good because they build on so much from previous episodes as well as being good themselves.

As for me, there's not a single episode of the show I didn't enjoy, but my favorite is "Movements of Fire and Shadow"

Best - As you say, it changes. A this particular moment, I'd be tempted to go for "The Fall of Centauri Prime." That entire arc, extending back to "All My Dreams" (can't remember the full title) and "Movements of Fire and Shadow" is great.

Worst - "Infection." Definitely. There are other plots that are just as bad (e.g. the title plot of Grey 17), but Infection is the only one of them I can think of that took up an entire episode with its badness. Blargh.

Like you guys say, a LOT of episodes are good and very few are bad, but right now I feel that..
          Best: Deconstruction of Falling Stars
          Worst: Infection
On a side note I like the Grey 17 story with Marcus in it, the way he fights the minbari who I currently have forgotten the name of, that's in my mind really good. But the other story, with Gray 17...? Not quite^^

Well, if I leave out the pilot, then the worst for me would be half of Grey 17 (the half with Garibaldi).

The best. Well, I really love Severed Dreams, but I think "Intersections in Real Time" was pretty awesome, from an acting and dramatical point of view.

I suppose my 2 faves are "And all my dreams torn asunder" & "Passing through Gethsemene". These two episodes are top drawer stuff in my opinion.

My Least fave is "Grey 17 is missing" which is quite frankly rubbish.

I think it says a lot about the show when so many people consider the very first episode produced (apart from the pilot), when the characters hadn't yet had the chance to bed in or find their true voices, as the worst.

That would be Infection, by the way, for anyone who didn't know.

That said, of course, the one thing I really like about Infection is that it showed us early on the lengths that Earth would go to to develop its technology and how they were so not whiter than white like in a certain other SF franchise.

My least favourite would probably be Exogenesis. Not because there is anything particularly wrong with it, I have just always found it to be extremely dull.

My favourite would probably be Severed Dreams, Interludes and Examinations or Intersections in Real Time, depending on when you asked me the question.

'Infection' is obviously the worst episode.

                  The best?

'Comes The Inquisitor' was excellent - Wayne Alexander totally brilliant as Sebastian.

'And The Rock Cried Out No Hiding Place' - Lord Refa getting what he deserved was done well also. You don't mess with Londo!

I can remember watching 'Point Of No Return' on Channel 4 as a teenager and I can't remember being so excited in anticipation of the next episode.

So it's Severed Dreams for me.

Best - (non-arc) "Soul Mates" and (arc) "Day of the Dead"

Worst - (non-arc) "Infection" and (arc) "Severed Dreams"

Yeah. That's right. I said it. "Severed Dreams" as one of the worst. And y'all know why, too.

Interesting. I'd say it's a real stretch to call 'Day of the Dead' an arc-story. It has the odd bit or piece that fits with the arc, but then so do all the other non-arc stories for the most part. And I'm mystified as to what you're referring to with Severed Dreams.

One word is all that needs to be said about that triple damned episode. Jane.

I thought it was ISN's finest hour. They threw off the shackles of Clark's tyranny. I thought more of ISN and their staff in that moment then I did of them through the whole series, until Jane came back in Rising Star of course.

My vote for best are tied between Deconstruction of Falling Stars [we get to see way into the future which is way cool] and Sleeping in Light. I always feel a little choked up at the end when Joe turns out the lights and the music swells as the station blows up. What a way to end a series!

Worst would be Infection. I've never liked that episode at all and skip it when I do my yearly run through the series.

Best arc story for me was probably "Moments of Transition" - both plots worked out very well, and in parallel.

Worst arc story was "There All the Honor Lies" (the A plot; the B plot was okay) I just didn't find it very credible.

Best non-arc story was "Passing Through Gethsemane." Some very good acting in that ep.

Worst non-arc story was "A View from the Gallery." Painful acting and dialogue, even from the established stars.
I believe that when we leave a place, part of it goes with us and part of us remains. Go anywhere in the station, when it is quiet, and just listen. After a while, you will hear the echoes of all our conversations, every thought and word we've exchanged. Long after we are gone .. our voices will linger in these walls for as long as this place remains. But I will admit .. that the part of me that is going .. will very much miss the part of you that is staying.
