  • Lines of Communication

You don't realize it at the time, but the first time you watch B5 you don't know what's going to happen so it's kind of exciting. Sometimes I could forget the episodes so I could get that feeling again.

There were a few episodes in Crusade that I haven't seen and I saw those a month or so ago when I got that set and that was fun.

There was one episode in Babylon 5 I hadn't seen and that was "Lines of Communication" (Season 4). I got my new B5 DVD's recently and last night I got to see it. It really explains a lot about Delenn and Sheridan's transformation and they get to speak to each other freely. It showed Franklin and #1 together and I got to see the Drakh fight. What a great episode. Most of my viewing before was from DVD's from the library for a couple of seasons and mostly from tapes of the original episodes. I see stuff I missed, (from the tapes), now and again but it was fun to see the whole episode for the first time.

The only thing I have yet to see is the movie Soul Hunters. I need to get the movie pack.

Oh, do I agree with that! I've seen the entire series many times now and always see something different but that first time is special. I'd love to be able to go back and experience it again for the first time.

I still remember biting my nails more and more towards the end of season 2 and thinking 'Whoa, what are they gonna do next?!' Good days!

I find that watching the series with someone who hasn't seen it before almost takes one back. Not completely, but almost.

Well, actually, when I watched it with my girlfriend - who absolutely loved it - that was as powerful an experience as the first time. So I guess it depends on the person and their reaction.

I really enjoy that "new" feeling too.

Before the DVD's I thought I had seen every episode. Loved the series, yadda yadda yadda.

As I got the series and stated watching them, getting my fix, I started watching GROPOS.

I had never seen it. All my viewings, and I never caught it. It was repeated awe moments for me. One for having a "New" B5 episode to watch, and two when I absorbed that episode's links to the rest of the series.

I double checked all the DVD's after that, and sadly I had seen all the other episodes.

I still envy those who get to discover the show for the first time.

Yeah, well, the rent is cheap, the pay is decent and I get to make my own hours.

I'm still really chuffed that my son grew up with, and really loves B5. In fact he watches the dvds more than me.

I always remember watching 'Shadow Dancing' and 'Z'ha'dum' at my mothers house and the feeling afterwards was completely amazing - in fact so amazing it inspired me to go to the B5 con in sunny Blackpool with my 2 sisters who also love B5 ( the con where EVERYONE from the cast of B5, to JMS, Copeland etc were there - oh happy days )

Still get a lump in my throat at the end of z'ha'dum.

            ''Jump, Jump Now!''

            Timeless IMO.

There are two episodes now that I've seen on the DVD's that I hadn't seen before. And I'm going through all them again even some that I don't prefer and seeing stuff here and there. Much better than my grainy copied off TV tapes.
