  • Vorlon Homeworld

I found an interesting note posted shortly before season 3 went into production:

    jms 7/12/1995:

We'll see the Vorlon homeworld eventually.
Something he changed his mind on later on whether the humans would get there? Or perhaps he was planning on showing it from the Vorlon perspective at some point, before he knew that the Vorlons were going to be asked to leave the galaxy and have Ulkesh killed in season four?

jms 10/16/1996, during season four's production:

There are no plans at present to show the Vorlon homeworld.

Well, we didn't see much of it but we *did* see a bit of the Vorlon Homeworld in "Secrets of the Soul" when Lyta shared with Byron how the Vorlons had changed her and manipulated the DNA of many of the races.

That's a good point; don't know why that scene didn't pop into my head when I read the note. That is likely what he was referring to as I found this later note:

jms 1/13/1998 on the topic "What about the Vorlon homeworld":

All I can say is that you'll hear about this more in S5.

Maybe you did see the Vorlon homeworld; you just don't remember seeing it...

I wonder if Jason Ironheart would be there [at the Vorlon homeworld] in a million years to great humanity when they left earth for the last time?

Congratulations Jan! You are the Winner. You came up with a reason for me to slip in Disc II of Season V .

I was just checking the flashbacks there, and all we saw was a room.

                Well-played.
I believe that when we leave a place, part of it goes with us and part of us remains. Go anywhere in the station, when it is quiet, and just listen. After a while, you will hear the echoes of all our conversations, every thought and word we've exchanged. Long after we are gone .. our voices will linger in these walls for as long as this place remains. But I will admit .. that the part of me that is going .. will very much miss the part of you that is staying.

I've heard that a few times but there's no episode I've seen that says that's the case. Where did you get this from?

Also, "The Fall of Centauri Prime," when Lyta says they are not allowed in to the Vorlon homeworld until they're ready, in a million years.

Neither of which actually stated that that was where they were going. Implied, yes, but never actually stated.

I did think that JMS had confirmed this at some point, though.

We don't know if that is their home-world or a colony, space station or large ship.

I do remember the Vorlon card for the component battle game showed a floating ring shaped Vorlon city(?) hovering in thick clouds.

I don't know if that was an official representation of the Vorlon home-world or just a bit of artwork put together by the producers of the game.

Well, I suppose we sorta saw it in the TLT opening titles.

He did. It was in his commentary for "The Fall of Centauri Prime".
