  • Thread ABOUT the Silly Quotations Thread

    Hi guys,
I just joined your forum and still try to read through the posts that interest me most. And of course, I noticed (how could you not?) your "Silly Quotations" Thread ... it's hilarious!

I just wanted to say that here as to not mess up the thread. You are great and the speed with witch you provide each other with quotations ... amazing. I am only on page 9 yet, but I hope to catch up soon and participate

    Hi Starstuff, welcome!

Almost every forum has a favorite quotes thread or most meaningful quotes thread. Heck, if you look back far enough here, you'll find the predecessor to the 'Silly' thread where somebody would post a quote and the rest would guess the episode.

And yet...some people for whom B5 isn't to their taste (which is fine) like to talk about how 'bad' the writing on B5 was. Ha! Bad writing isn't usually very quotable now, is it?

Anyway, jump in when you feel comfortable. Glad you found us.

      Hi Jan,

thank you for the warm welcome!

Yes, of course I have my favorite quotes from B5, I have a real many of them and many have already been used in the mentioned thread. I haven't yet read through it all because it made me laugh so badly my stomach hurt

... and I think I need to re-watch the show to find out where all the great quotes come from.

i think those people who complain about the writing are not sure why there isn't enough sex and violence for them and too much actual story telling

They're usually the same kind of people who think we need more "reality-tv" programming.

Not anybody the world would miss, really.

Gotta admit, that's not a bad 'problem' to have, is it? My latest re-watching has been along with the scripts in the script books. Fun!

....and my last rewatch (apart from a few single eps) was presenting B5 to an old friend - she absolutely *adores* B5 , so I'm happy

and yes - the "silly quotes" thread is *very* enjoyable, just found it when it was reactivated a few weeks ago .... love it

Oh, those script books are still on my "need to buy"-list. But right now I cannot possibly afford them because instead I spent my money on tickets to the FedCon in Bonn (Germany) - where I will get to see Bruce Boxleitner and Peter Jurasik.

I think, until then I should've went through all the tv episodes and movies at least 2 more times

Ooh, you lucky thing. I've never had the pleasure to actually be present with anybody experiencing B5 for the first time. Next best thing to experiencing it for the first time myself.
